Overview

Yuan Cavern consists of two distinct sections. The first section features two paths that run parallel to each other. The Seethe will only enter from one Torii Gate, but they will travel along both paths, confronting Yoshiro directly, as well as snaking around the alternate path to attack Yoshiro from behind. The second section has one main path, and then two paths that intersect with each other and the main path at multiple points. Along the paths, there are multiple Barriers you can repair to stop the Seethe in their tracks.

As for Seethe, you will deal with the standard Gaki, the flying Hitoban, the projectile shooting Shibakaki, and the Rosokuro, a new type of Seethe that can enhance the other Seethe around it.

Positioning And Strategy

You should be able to complete this mission in four days and three nights. Start by carving the Spirit Path for Yoshiro. Take it as far forward as you can. Her afterimage will show you that she can travel about three-quarters of the stage forward. However, the better play is to stop her short of that, behind the Barrier. As for your troops, focus primarily on giving your villagers the Archer role. Woodcutters will work fine as well, but Archers are a better fit, as they can cover both paths simultaneously.

During the second segment, Yoshiro won’t be able to reach the Torii gate. Your best strategy is to hold the fort down at the far end of the stage. Carve the Spirit Path, and set your carpenter to repair the Barrier at the mid-point of the main path.Once you have the carpenter set to make repairs, and the path carved, sprint around the map and light the lanterns.

You’ll likely encounter a caved-in section, ignore it for now: you don’t have time to deal with it during the first day.

Once night falls for the third time, place your Archers in front of Yoshiro and immediately head for the Torii Gate. Soh should be doing their best job to thin out the Seethe, as Yoshiro won’t be in anamazingdefensive position. The moment the Seethe start flooding out of the gate you’ll need to deal with a Rosokuro. This type of Seethe can buff all the other Seethe, which makes them extremely fast. So, ensure you take the Rosokuro out as quickly as possible. It would be a good idea to use your Tsuba Guard attack to eliminate the threat.

Yoshiro won’tquitebe able to reach the Torii gate, so stop her before she dances past the Barrier the furthest down the path. Then, position your archers in front of her and resume your position in front of the Torii gate like you did during the previous night.

Lantern Locations

First Half Lantern Locations

There are four lanterns located along the central path: one on your left before the bridge (where the two paths fork), two are located on your right just past the bridge, with the fourth is located next to the Torii gate. The remaining two are on the northmost path. The is one behind the fallen rocks (you’ll need to order three villagers to clear the rubble), with the final lantern located where the paths fork (on the east end of the path this time).

Second Half Lantern Locations

If you take the northmost path, you will quickly encounter two Lanterns. Both of these Lanterns will be on your left. Keep following the path north and around straight to the Torii gate. You will find two more Lanterns on this path, one will be on your right, the other will be on your left. Once you have reached the Torii gate, you will find another Lantern right of the gate. Now, head back toward Yoshiro, once you reach the clearing where multiple paths converge, there will be three Lanterns to light. One will be on your right, another will be on the center path, and another will be on the main path.
