Thiollier is one of the new NPCs introduced inElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. He may appear like a simple merchant dealing in poison-based items, but he also has an elaborate quest that runs alongside the main campaign of the DLC.
You should be able to start Thiollier’s quest almost immediately after setting foot in the Land of Shadow. To complete it, however, you will need to summon him before defeating the final boss of the DLC in Enir-Ilim. With that said, we have kept the guide as spoiler-free as possible.
Meeting Thiollier In Gravesight Plains
You will initially find Thiollier near the ‘Pillar Path Cross’ Sight of Grace.It is towards the southeast edge of Castle Ensis– directly west ofFort of Reprimand; he will introduce himself, speak a little about seeing St. Trina, and that is pretty much all.
We recommendpurchasing theDeadly Poison Perfume Bottlebefore moving on.
Obtaining Thiollier’s Concoction
Your next stop is the ‘Main Gate Cross’ Sight of Grace rightoutside Belurat Tower Settlement. Speak with the NPC named Moore; he is the one in heavy armor, holding a pot.
You will also need to make an important choice here:
Put It Behind You
Moore will join Leda in Enir-Ilim. You can also lock yourself out of the seventhForager Brood Cookbookif you do not have the remaining six before speaking with him.
Remain Sad Forever
You will find Moore’s corpse behind the Church of the Crusade. This is the only way to acquire the Forager Cookbook without finding the other six first.
I Don’t Know
He remains a merchant. You do not get his armor.
Regardless of what you choose,Moore will hand you over the Black Syrup.; return to Thiollier and give him the Black Syrup. Continue to exhaust his dialogues until you see the option that says ‘I’m weary of life’ to acquireThiollier’s Concoction.
you may also buy an additional one for 30,000.You will need it for Igon’s quest.
A Great Rune Has Broken
At this point, you will need toexplore a bit ofShadow Keepor Rauh Baseuntil you see this message on your screen:
Somewhere, a great rune has been broken, And so too has a powerful charm.
Once this message appears, return to Thiollier, and he will tell you thathe is headed to the Southern Shore in search of St. Trina.
If you attempt to get to this area before the message appears on your screen,you will find the path blocked by a seal.
Exhaust his dialogues before heading all the way south to the ‘Cerulean Coast’ Sight of Grace, and continue to follow the path south until you come across a giant hurling pots at you. You can ignore this enemy if you want and go past the large structure to find a cave leading into ‘The Fissure’ Sight of Grace.
Stone Coffin Fissure
Walk a little forward, and you will find yourself next to the ‘Stone Coffin Fissure’ Sight of Grace;it is a somewhat linear dungeon that should not give you any trouble as long as you are somewhat careful. There are a handful ofBloodfiends, someStone Caterpillars, and a fewSkeletons; deal with these enemies and head over to the ‘Fissure Cross’ Sight of Grace after an intended fall.
As you are navigating the large structures,be mindful of Stone Caterpillars shooting lasersthat can deal a lot of damage. Try to use the cover to your advantage and head over to the ‘Fissure Waypoint’ Sight of Grace; from there, jump across the gaps to reach the ‘Fissure Depths’ Sight of Grace.
Now run up the stairs and drop from the stone-head(intended fall) to fight the Putrescent Knight.
Putrescent Knight Boss Fight
Putrescent Knight is a fairly challenging boss fight;he is immune to most of the status effects except Holy Damage and Scarlet Rot, so try to use it to your advantage if possible.He also inflicts a lot of Frostbite, so things likeDappled Cured Meat,Speckled Hardtear,Stalwart Horn Charm +2, etc. are really helpful.
Imbibing Nectar
Once you have defeated him, rest at the ‘Garden of Deep Purple’ Sight of Grace, and thenhead inside the nearby cave to find St. Trina. Speak with her and continue to select the ‘Imbibe Nectar’ option four times until you see the following message on your screen:
Make Miquella stop, Don’t turn the poor thing into a god…
Every time you imbibe nectar, you will die–this is intentional. Do not forget to pick your Runes.
At this point, speak with Thiollier and tell him what St. Trina said.This will trigger his invasion after you rest at the Sight of Grace. Defeating him is very easy. Do not worry about any of his attacks. Just be as aggressive as you possibly can and he should fall in a few hits. You will getSt. Trina’s Smilefor your troubles.
Return to Thiollier in the cave before imbibing nectar two more timesfor this message:
Godhood would be Miquella’s prison. A caged divinity, is beyond saving. You must kill Miquella, Grant him forgiveness.
Once again,return to Thiollier and pass on the words of St. Trinabefore exiting the area.
Summon Thiollier In Enir-Ilim
Lastly, head over to the Enir-Ilim dungeon andsummon Thiollier during your confrontation with Leda.
Remember that unlocking Enir-Ilim requires you toburn the Sealing Treeafter defeatingMessmer The ImpalerandRomina:Saint of the Bud.
Once you have done that,continue forward until the final boss of Shadow of the Erdtree and summon Thiollieragain. Afterdefeating the last boss of the DLC, loot Thiollier’s body in the area for these items:
