Borderlands 3has plenty of loot-and-shoot content, especially when the main story is complete. Even without the added DLC packages, there are Trials across the worlds in Borderlands that give experienced players tough challenges with legendary rewards if completed.
One of them is the Trial of Instinct, which represents the locale of Eden-6 and the challenge of the local Vault that players had to open in the main story. There aren’t any puzzles in this specific Trial, instead focused on gunplay and speed.
How To Complete The Trial Of Instinct In Borderlands 3
To start the Trial of Instinct,after the main story is completein either Normal or True Vault Hunter mode,go to Eden-6and the main area known asthe Brooding Hollow. Fast travel toKnotty Peak, as this will be the closest spot to where you can accept the mission for the Trial.
After arriving at the Jakobs lodge,take the elevator downand either drive or jump off the ledge to the left for a shortcut tothe North areaof the Hollow. Then,head to the stairs left of The Anviland you’ll reacha glowing Eridian stand.
This isthe same spotwhere,in the main story,you first spotted the line systemthat you had to jump onto enter the local prisonto help rebuild the town of Reliance.
This stand will offer the Trial, andadd a new location to the Fast Travel systemfor the Trial itself. After teleporting to it, reach the starting point andmeet a Guardian named the Overseer.
He marks the start of the Trial, asthe barrier behind him is the starting line. Afterkitting up with the machines nearby, and when you feel ready, accept the mission to start the Trial.
The Trial of Instinct is separated into four zones, all blocked by barriers until all enemies in the preceding zone have been defeated. The enemies within the Trial of Instinct are all Eden-6 adjacent,so except plenty of Jabbersbefore fighting the final boss.

Fight through each area,clearing all enemiesto drop the barrier and move on to the next. After doing this three times,the final zone will be for the boss fightagainst the Tyrant of Instinct.
TheTyrant of Instinct isn’t a complex bosslike others in Borderlands 3, instead just sportinga large health pool and high melee damage. In comparison to other Trials, the Trial of Instinct is easier but insteadfocuses on defeating enemies quickly for better rewards.
When the Tyrant of Instinct is defeated,the timer will stop and the chest to the left of the Tyrant will be available. The Overseer will comment on your performance before disappearing, allowing for you toopen the chest and finally end the Trial.
