With over a dozen dungeons inDungeons Of Hinterberg, you’re sure to find one you like. Each dungeon comes with a different difficulty rating and puzzles inside that rely on the unique magic of the region. The Prisonkeep Island dungeon is the first dungeon you’ll encounter in the Brunnelsumpf region, and you’ll have to learn a few knew tricks to make it through safely.
Thankfully, we’ve done most of the work for you. We’ve worked through the complicated puzzles and battles so you can breeze through them. Here’s everything you need to know about the Prisonkeep Island dungeon in Brunnelsumpf.

Where To Find Prisonkeep Island
As soon as youunlock Brunnelsumpf, a swampy region of Hinterberg, you can make your way there to encounter its dungeons. The entire region is surrounded by water, but one dungeon is accessible: Prisonkeep Island. Once youget your magic at the Skill Shrinefrom the area,follow the trail to Prisonkeep Island.
You’ll need toplace a giant cube in the swampso you can cross over and reach the portal. Once there, you’llunlock a fast travel pointand be able to enter with ease.
Prisonkeep Island is a level five difficulty dungeon, so be prepared before diving in!
Prisonkeep Island Puzzles
Prisonkeep Island is a big dungeon with plenty of puzzles and battles. Many of them require you to pay attention to your surroundings and get creative.
We’ve broken down the puzzles intothree smaller sectionsto help guide you through each one with ease.
Fish Puzzles
Once you enter the dungeon, you’re under the sea.Use your cube to reach ledgesthat are just a bit out of reach and climb along the reefs to reach the ruined prison.
Send a Plasma Ball towards the blue jellyfish, then stop it once it reaches its target. Thisraises the bridgeso you can cross safely. Enter the prison and fight off the monsters that appear. Take the door on the left once the monsters are defeated.
The door will shut behind you, so make sure you’ve gathered all loot prior to entering!
To escape this chamber, you’ll need tosend a Plasma Ball into the open fish mouthon the wall. The Plasma Ball will travel through the tube andactivate the jellyfishon the other side. Stop it on the jellyfish so you can run through the open gate.
Continue through the dungeon until youreach an open courtyard with two of the fish pipes. Use a cube toclimb up on the platformwith the button and interact with it. This turns the fish pipe along the wall, swapping directions.
Stepping on the clam-shaped pressure plate opens the locked gate.
Send a Plasma Balltowards the fish pipe on the ground, then wait until it passes through the second pipe.Press the buttonto change the second pipe’s direction so that the Plasma Ball is launched into the open gate. It willpower the ladderso that it drops, allowing you to move forward.
Progress to the next area where you’ll have to work with a similar puzzle.Stand on the clam-shaped pressure plateto open the gate, then launch a Plasma Ball at the wall. It should bounce off and travel through the fish pipe.
The Plasma Ball can bounce off the wall and activate the node without the fish pipe if you fire at the right angle!
Climb the ladderthat drops and fight off the monsters you encounter inside the open area. You’re well on your way to the next portion of the dungeon.
Cube Puzzles
Continue through the dungeon until youreach a dead end. There’s a button on a wooden platform that looks like it will open the locked gate.Interact with itand you’ll drop through the floor, trapped underground.
Never fear! Line up your cube andplace it under the gate. It will force the gate to rise soyou can escape and continuedungeon delving.
Try this with other gates you encounter to see what loot you may find!
Back in the courtyard,use the cube to climb uponto the stone platform andinteract with the buttonto flip the wooden box.Kick the ladder downand place a new cubeunderneath the pressure plate. This will keep the door open so you can move to the next area.
The next puzzle will require you toline up the jellyfish on the rotating handles. The two jellyfish on the ground control the respective handles.Activate one at a timewith your Plasma Ball until the two tips are close enough tohit with one Plasma Ball.
Do so andrush through the gatebefore the magic wears off.
In the following chamber, you’ll have to get creative.Use the cube to climbonto the nearest platform, thenplace the cube inside the fenceso you can climb over it andreach the other side. From there, carefullyplace the cube on the next platformand climb it.
Leap across to the highest platform, then place a new cube on it.Send a Plasma Ball into the jellyfishon the wall, then hurry through the now open gate to the next area.
Your next challenge is tocross a pond of toxic waterwhile lasers fire at you.Place a cube on the raft to protect you, activate the raft, and carefully move around the cube as the raft drifts down the water.
If you’re having trouble, try placing the cube in thefront right cornerof the raft!
Once the raft reaches the other side,hop off and place a new cube in the fenceon the left. Leap over and continue along to the final puzzle in the Prisonkeep Island dungeon.
Final Puzzle
The final puzzle will take some preparation. You’ll need tosend a Plasma Ball into the jellyfishto rotate the platform. Make your way across, thenplace a cube on the suspended bridge.
Climb onto the stone platform and press the button tolower a treasure chest!
Use your Plasma Ball torotate the platform across from youto reach another button in the ruins. The space across from you has a button that willraise the suspended platform, pushing the slime cube into a pressure plate on the ceiling. Thisopens the gateat the front of the room.
Now all you need is to get back there. Hop back on the rotating platform andreach the center platform. Pressing the button here will move that platform so you cancircle back around to the frontof the room. Head along the path and pass through the gate, thenascend the ladderto the final area.
The last area in the dungeon will see youface several waves of monsters. Use your magic tohold them in placeas a form of crowd control, defeating them all in a much more efficient manner.
Once they’re dealt with,collect your Prisonkeep Island stampand exit the dungeon to wrap up your day in Hinterberg.
