Heists inGrand Theft Auto Onlineare notorious for asking players to pull off some intense robberies. This holds true for all the final heists in the Salvage Yard business operations. Ranging from stealthy intel gathering to breaking into a police station, these missions will test all the skills you’ve acquired in your Grand Theft Auto career.
The Gangbanger Robbery is one of the five vehicle robberies you can take part in. The payout canrange anywhere between $250,000 to $400,000 depending on the vehicle you steal, but the missions have a consistency that makes it easy to prepare for.
The Gangbanger Robbery Planning Work
Scoping out a police station, breaking out a criminal, and finding a fancy car in the process. Sounds fun, doesn’t it? The Gangbanger Robbery consists oftwo major setup missions and one final heist. In between these,you’ll also be completing tasks that are available in freemode. But, more about that later.
All of these missionscan be done alone, so you don’t need to worry about finding a co-op partner or convincing your friends to play the game.
The Gangbanger Robbery becomes one of the available missions the moment you’re done setting up the Salvage Yard business. The first thing you want to do iscomplete the scoping out mission.
Having a vehicle like the Oppressor MK II or Buzzard at your fingertips is always useful during these missions.
Scope Out The Police Station
You’ll be asked tovisit the Mission Row Police Station. Well, at least a vantage point near it. This is so you can take pictures of certain parts of the police station, and you need tokeep in mind three major points.
Finally,return to the Salvage Yardto complete the mission.
Stealing The Police Maverick
Now that you’ve scoped out the police station, the next step on the planning board will lead you to what you do best — stealing a vehicle from the cops, of course! To do this, you’ll have to firsthead to the Weazel News Building.
Here, you’ll need tohack a signal boxright outside the building. This is simpler than it looks, and all you have to do is make sure that thenumbers on the top match the numbers on the bottom.
Remember, the biggest number on the left may be tricky to figure out at first, but all you have to keep in mind isgetting the highest number based on what you match on the right.
Once you get this number, the other two are easier to figure out. The number below should match the one above, and you’re good to go!
Next, you’ll get the location on your map. This is where you’ll be heading tosteal the Police Maverick. It’s recommended that you approach this with caution, as the place is heavily guarded, and you will be shot on sight.
Assault Shotguns and Special Carbines are your best friends when it comes to aggressive shootouts.
You can approach the helicopter directly from the roof(which is what we recommend) or make your way from the ground with the help of ladders. Once the chopper is in your hands, bring it back to the Salvage Yard, and you’ll be asked to land it nearby.
Stealing Tactical Gear
The next big move you’ll need to pull off isacquiring tactical gear. You’ll first head to the marked location, and prepare yourself for the big fight ahead.
ensure your health is up (snacks help!), Heavy Armor is equipped, and you have enough rounds in your gun’s magazine.
Bursting through the lockup door, you’ll be greeted with armed guards. Take them out, andlocate the Riot Van that holds the tactical gear you need.
Simply walk up to each van’s back doors and open it to check whether or not it’s the one. Eventually,you’ll find the van that has the tactical gear.
Finally, bring back the van to the Salvage yard, and you’re almost through with the major setup missions.
The Gangbanger Robbery Setup Tasks
Now that you’re done with the most time-consuming and difficult missions, it’s time to tick off the checklist of tasks you need to get done.
These aren’t specific missions that trigger from the Salvage Yard’s planning board. Rather, they are found in the game’s freemode, and you may access them by simply walking up to the task as found in Los Santos' large map.These are mandatory tasks that you cannot skip.
The Getaway Vehicle
For this task, you’ll be heading to a garage that holds a bunch of cars that can be used as getaway vehicles.This involves a small gunfight, so make sure you have enough ammo and armor equipped.
The Assault Shotgun is your best friendhere, and you’re free to choose any vehicle to steal. Once you’re in the car, exit the garage and head to any marked locations on the map. This is where the getaway vehicle will be stored.
Weapon Stash
Next, you’ll have a task that needs you tohead to an Ammu-Nation store. There are no fights involved here, andyou simply need to locate unmarked weapons.
Walk into the store, take a left, and you’ll find these weapons marked with a green arrow. If you still can’t find them, try walking further into the store until you reach the end.
Once done, you’ll be heading back to the Police Station and hiding these weapons under a garbage bin.Remember the back doors you scoped out earlier?This would be right in front of that.
Stun Guns
Finally, the last mandatory task will be finding a stack of stun guns for you to use later during the heist. You’ll be heading to a parking lot, anda friendly NPC (Jamal) will be sending you a number plate.
Simply locate this number plate.This is usually a patrol car (white and blue in color)that will stand out from the rest of the vehicles. Walk to its trunk, open it, and grab the stun guns. That’s it!
After that, you will head back to the Salvage Yard and call it a day. Unless, of course, you’re ready to now pull off the robbery.
How To Complete The Gangbanger Robbery
So, here we are. The final step in this grand heist. Now that you’re done with all the planning missions and mandatory tasks, just walk up to your planning board at the Salvage Yard and trigger the mission.

The first thing you’ll do isenter the stolen Police Maverick and head to the Police Station’s rooftop.
Here, you’ll quietly take out any security guards (with your stun gun) and throw tear gas into the different vents.There area total of four vents, and these will be marked on your minimap.
Next, you’ll be heading to the station’s lowest level andlooking for cell keys.The location for this is randomized, so you may have to spend a few minutes searching for it.
It’s best to first clear out any remaining enemies in this area before looking for the cell keys.
Once you’ve acquired the keys,you’ll be giving the basement a visit. Here, hacking the computer will grant you access to King Tiny’s cell. Freeing him brings you one step closer to the finale.
With the assistance of King Tiny, exit the station and find the weapon stash that you hid under the garbage bins earlier. Losing your wanted level may seem like a big task now, but having a vehicle like the Buzzard or Oppressor MK II handy is important here.
You can quickly lose your wanted level by ending your character’s life. The moment you respawn, the cops are pretty much gone!
Once you’re rid of your wanted level, the next step is totake King Tiny to the airport. The trip to LSIA can be done through the getaway vehicle.
However, if you’ve been playing the game for a while, then you likely have a better alternative like a helicopter that can cut short the travel time.
Once you drop King Tiny off at the airport, he’ll get in a chopper and fly off. In the next few seconds, you’ll be granted the location of the special vehicle.
Make your way to this place, and be prepared to be a part of yet another shootout. Once you’ve dealt with the gang members protecting the car, it’s yours for the taking!
Carefully drive back to the Salvage Yard,and that’s pretty much it. Upon completing the mission, the vehicle will be stored safely at the Salvage Yard and you decide whether to sell it to Yusuf Amir to salvage it for parts.
