If you’re trying to film a (Crush) juicy reality TV show inThe Crush House, then there are plenty of things to keep in mind to put together a good show. You’ll have a variety of Audiences to please, props to place, and more, but a show is nothing without a cast.
There are 12 total cast members available to bring into The Crush House, and you’ll get to choose four per season. Everyone has their own personality, likes, and dislikes, and you’ll find soon enough that certain personalities blend fairly seamlessly, while others are more like oil and water.

Making Smart Casting Decisions Helps Boost Audience Ratings
Keep Relationship Dynamics In Mind, Good And Bad
The full version of The Crush House features a fulldozen potential cast membersyou can recruit to be on your show. Each season, you’ll need tohand-pick the castwho’ll be moving into The Crush House for the week, and there’s a lot that goes into choosing a group that Audiences will actually want to watch.
The 12 cast members in The Crush House havefleshed-out personalitiesthat give themlikes and dislikeswhen it comes to their surroundings and the people they’re speaking with, each coming with their ownpersonality type. Because of this, it’s no surprise thatcertain cast members organically get along betterwith one another than they do with others. For example, Ayo doesn’t like nerds, so she may not get on so well with Veer, the “nervous Brit geek.”

But just because two characters may get along doesn’t mean they’re the ones you want to cast! Sure, some Audiences want to see friendships and kumbaya, but this is reality TV, where the more dramatic things are, the better.Mixing up cast dynamicsbetween seasons is a great way to keep things fresh for different kinds of viewers. If you think a combination might be explosive, it could be great for ratings.
If you truly don’t have a preference on who gets cast, or just want to shake things up, you can choose torandomize the castif you’d like to relinquish control.

Certain Audiences May Like Different Cast Members Better Than Others
Certain Audiences like certain cast membersbest, and they’ll naturally react better when those characters are on the show that season. This can be for a variety of reasons - the Libertarians like Gunther for pretty obvious reasons, while the Fish Freaks like Coco just because he’s wearing fishnet. But since you won’t know who’s watching when you cast the season, it’s best tocast a wide personality netand make sure tokeep things freshbetween seasons.
You’ll need to double up eventually withfive seasonsof the show to play out before The Crush House comes to an end in one of a couple different endings, but you’ll find thatcast members don’t carry memories over between seasons. Surely that has nothing to do with the conspiracy everyone is prattling on about, right?
Anyway, as the season progresses, you’ll watch through your camcorder as relationships progress and change, and the Audience almost always wants to watch these relationships grow or deteriorate. You’ll befilming this cast alot, so it’s helpful to try to identify potential relationship patterns early in the season, even if that means setting them up on purpose with your casting choices.
Cast members will also have their own Requests as the seasons march on, but you’ll need to break the rules to ask them what they’d like. Remember that sign the PA showed you when you first got to The Crush House: no talking to the cast! (While the cameras are rolling, that is…)

You can get good traction with the Boys for Boys and Girls for Girls Audience types by keeping a balance between the sexes when you cast. You won’y please any Girls for Girls Audiences with an all-male cast, after all.
Mix up different combinations of the cast to see who you think fits best (or worst) together, but ensure to leave a decent spread - who knows what the audience will want to watch next episode.
