Teamfight TacticsSet 12 is focused on the magical side of League of Legends, showing off unique abilities through new traits and augments. One of these new traits is Frost, which also happens to be the focus of one of the best team compositions in the set.
There are two ways to build around the Frost trait, but ironically enough, the best way happens to be pairing it with the Pyro trait. Fire and ice work well together in Set 12, as Frost offers more overall damage output while Pyro offers more attack speed.
All Units For Frost Hwei Team Composition
To start, here areall the units you need for the Frost Hwei teamcomposition.
Traditionally, this composition will hit the five-active version of the Frost trait, but if you’re lucky enough toget two Frost emblems, you’re able to place themon Varus and Nasustohit seven Frostunits and a big buff for the team.
The goal for this team is tothree-star Hwei with strong itemson him while also buildinga two-star Varus and Nasusas your secondary carries.
Olaf is an amazing unit to put physical damage items onas well, especially if you’re able to’t get tank items and need someone else in the front line to hold their own.
How To Level Up With The Frost Hwei Team Composition
Like other teams with three-cost and four-cost units as their carries, this team composition aims toget to level eight fast (around round 4-3)and roll down your coin to get your units.
Especially since this is a three-star Hwei comp,having a lot of moneyandpicking up all the Hweisin your shopis crucial to victory.
To begin,level up to four at 2-1, five at 2-5, and sixat 3-2. Whereit differs fromthe standard level up isseven and eight, which you want to hit at 4-1 and 4-3,respectively. While doing this, save up nearly all your money, so you’ll have a ton of coin when you hit level 6.
Early on in the game, before you hit levels seven and eight, there are plenty of units you’re able to use as a temporary replacement for those future carries.
Zileanis good toget Frost up early and can hold your Hwei itemsuntil you get him.Rumble and Warwickalso allow you tobuild a strong frontline early on,thanks to their shared Vanguard trait.
Best Items For The Frost Hwei Team Composition
Getting the right items for at least Hwei and Nasus is key to good performance using this team.Hwei is your primary magic damage dealer, and getting him to two-star and three-star are huge power spikes for your team.
Hwei
This allows Hwei to not onlycast his ability often, but the gauntlet allows his ability tocritically strike.
Nasus
A Frost emblem is Ideal for Nasus if you may get one.
Just like Nasus, Varus isbest with a Frost emblemas well.
The final unit you can build items for isOlaf, and the best items are aBloodthirster, a Titan’s Resolve, and a Sterak’s Cage.
None of the other units require items, butpicking up aDianacan be key if you want tohit those higher levels of Frost and deal significant damagein the late game.
Just make sure when you have the whole team that youkeep both Varus and Hwei as far away from harm as possible, most likely in opposite back corners of your map, to allow them to carry you to victory.
