Loongs are mythical dragons from Chinese folklore, and it comes as no surprise to find them inBlack Myth: Wukong. However, they are far from friendly, and each one stands as a formidable Yaoguai boss in the Destined One’s journey.
One such boss is the Cyan Loong. A hidden Yaoguai King, this humanoid, sword-wielding dragon is found in Chapter Three, but you’ll need a Key Item from an earlier chapter to face it. The Cyan Loong wields powerful lightning-imbued attacks, but with the right preparations, even the mightiest of adversaries can be brought down, and Cyan Loong is no exception.

How To Find The Cyan Loong

Once you’ve acquired the Loong Scales, return to the Cyan Loong, and after a short cutscene, the boss will awaken.

Cyan Loong Boss Preparations
Set yourself up with a build thattackles the Cyan Loong’s lightning attacksand turns the tables on him.
First and foremost is theLoongscale Set, which you’re able to craft after defeating Kang-Jin Star. This set includes theLoongscale ArmguardandLoongscale Greaves, whichboost your resistance to shock. However, wearing the complete set not onlyreduces the Shocked state durationbut alsoenhances your Thunder Damage.

With Thunder Damage in mind, equip theKang-Jin Staffnext. Known for itshigh base damageandincreased critical hit chance, this staff alsoadds Thunder Damage to your combosif you’ve unlocked thePunishing Downpourskill in the Martial Arts section of the Foundation Skill Tree.
TheRat GovernorSpiritoffers a moderate Thunder Damage boostbut doesn’t quite match theWandering WightSpirit’s ability. Equipping the Wandering Wight Spiritalso buffs your base defense, making it the better choice.

As you reset your Sparks to unlock the Downpour Skill, invest points in theThrust Stanceuntil youunlock theAdaptabilityskill. This ability allows you to close gaps with swift staff thrusts and follow up with a tactical retreat maneuver. Tomaintain combos uninterruptedafter a dodge, you should alsolearnComposure.
For Spells,Immobilizeis a must-have to score some free hits against the Cyan Loong, while you canchoose betweenRock SolidandCloud Stepbased on your preference.
To further strengthen your defenses against the Cyan Loong’s punishing attacks, respec your Mind Cores and focus on alloting points to Defense and Shock resistance.
Finally, usetemporary defensive buffslike Medicines and Soaks upon consumption. TheShock-Quelling PowderandEvil Repelling Medicamentwill help you weather the storm, while theThunderbolt HornandTurtle TearSoaks provide extra shock resistance and mana recovery, respectively.
Cyan Loong Boss Easy Strategy
Start the boss fight byapplying your buffsandletting the Cyan Loong make the first move. He’ll oftenkick off with his flowing double slash or the thunderstrike combo. After dodging any of these attacks, you’ll have awindow to unleash a full comboanduse Immobilize to hold himin place for a few extra hits before he breaks free.
you’re able to get themost hits from the Cyan Loong’s flowing double slashcombo. After the combo, target his back and deliver four light attacks. After the fourth hit, he alwaysraises his tailto whip you, but that’s an easy move to avoid. Composure will automatically kick in, allowing you topick up your combowhere you left off and inflict a good deal of damage.
When he imbues his sword with lightning, you should start exercising caution. While the attacks aresimilar to his standard moves during this phase, they pack a much bigger punch, andtwo hits can be fatal. The multiple aftershocks can alsoroll catchyou, butrolling diagonally forwardhelps avoid these.
Look for openings to land free hits andretreat if he begins his standard slashes. Save yourRed TidesTransformation for thefinal stretch of the fightto turn the tide in your favor.
As the fight progresses, and youwear down the Cyan Loong, he’ll use hisultimate move, the lightning arc. When you see him charging up for this, back awayto avoid the massive damage. Once the sword loses its lightning power, you’ll only need todeal a few more hitsbefore the boss is taken down for good.
