InDiablo 4, an open-world RPG, the goal of the main story is to do one thing: defeat Lilith. The whole game revolves around picking a class that suits you best, helping others out from the demons she has helped revitalize, and grinding your way into becoming a hero.

When you finally fight through all the powerful enemies that come your way and venture into where Lilith resides, you should be powerful enough to defeat her. That doesn’t mean she is easy to beat, but if you use enough of your experience from other boss fights and some improvisation, Lilith can be easier to defeat than expected.

How To Defeat Lilith

For this final boss fight of the main story, there is one thing to keep in mind:she has two stagesthat you have to fight through, which shiftspartway through the fight.

Stage One

The first stage of the Lilith boss fight is relatively simple, asshe will jump in the air and land before trying to attack. That landing doesrelease a shockwave that does damage, so avoid that alongsideher fire line attacks. Those are theonly two attacksshe has for the first stage, so the key is tomove around constantlyto avoid the shockwave and ensure to move side to side when she does the line attack.

Ranged attacks usually fare best, but knowing when to dodge can also make this stage really easy for melee fighters. Now, onto Stage Two.

Stage Two

While Lilith’s attacks in Stage Two don’t change, the way she affects the space where you fightdoes. With some of her attacks, parts of the map will start to crack and pits will open up. Beware, becausethese areas can lead to instant deathif you walk on them or are on them when they are demolished.

This stage will have a lot moreairborne Lilith, soranged attacks mattermore for this section. Where avoiding attacks was key, it only becomes tougher when the area you may walk shrinks, and only becomes more of a struggle for classes that rely on melee fights.

Keep in mind thatfor Necromancers, thereisn’t an opportunity to resummon minions until late in the battlewhen some other demons join Lilith. If your minions are either destroyed by Lilith or from fallinginto the pits, youwon’t have much of a chance to bring them back.

verify touse your healing potions at the right time, as using them all too early can be a big mistake. Another key point for those heavy spellcasters ismanaging your Essence. Using it to speed upStage Two might prove to be a better choicethan using most of it in Stage One and waiting for your Essence to regenerate.

When the demons come in, they’ll add more targets for you but will also give you a sign that you’re close to beating Lilith. Try your best toget the demons down first, so you canfocus all your attention on Lilithto strike her down.

Defeating Lilithwill trigger a cutscene, and with that, there is only a small epilogue to go before you’re done with the main story. Just know that you’ve defeated the main evil and peace is now possible in the world of Diablo, even for a moment.
