You may find that Batsu has a few nasty tricks up its sleeves. If you approach it the wrong way, you’ll be in for a world of hurt. Thankfully, I’ve done your homework for you here. I’ll show you how to prep your team, how to avoid its attacks, and I’ll even give you some tips on how to beat him in under a minute so that you’re able to complete the bonus objective!

Preparation For Batsu

I hate to give you such a boring loadout, but I’d recommend simply going in with the Sazuka’s Flame Tsuba Guard, with the Deva and Kai Oni Mazo Talismans. I wouldn’t recommend any Mazo Talismans that weaken your Villagers to strengthen Soh or weaken Soh to strengthen your villagers: both halves of your army should be in fighting shape. As for your troops, make sure your Woodcutters have received their first three upgrades, and you should be as good as gold.

Additionally, having an Ascetic or two to bind Batsu is pretty helpful, so, if you have some Musubi to spare, giving them their first three upgrades would make things go even smoother.

Batsu’s Attacks

Batsu has a number of attacks at their disposal. It’ll lunge forward and tackle you if you are in front of them, which is one of the main reasons you won’t be there.Batsu will perform a 360-degree spinning attack. If you see them get low to the ground, you know this attack is coming.

Occasionally, Batsu will fire slow-moving fireballs that will track you. Thankfully, you’re able to dissipate them by attacking them before they hit you. Its big move is a giant stomp that will cause the rocks underneath your feet to jut out, and make you move slowly as long as you are in the affected area. However, if you use the final form of your Oka Dance Attack, the combo will help you escape the affected area.Lastly, Batsu will breathe flames while slowly turning. This attack will cause this massive monstrosity to move quite slowly, giving you lots of time to attack their back.

Additionally, Batsu will raise a demonic gate and summon a group of Gaki, Gakinyudo, and Hitoban to attack Yoshiro. However, as long as your Woodcutters have received their first three upgrades, they will be able to deal with them on their own while you attack Batsu - just tell them to protect Yoshiro with the Defend command. As a bonus, the act of summoning Seethe will leave Batsu vulnerable for an extended period of time.

Combat Strategy For Batsu

To kick things off, make all but two of your troops Woodcutters. The remaining two should be Acetics.Unless, that is, you haven’t built up the Acestic class at all. If that’s the case, then just make all your villagers Woodcutters.

The biggest mistake you can make in this fight is to overthink it. Batsu will take damage when their head or backside is attacked. All of their attacks are effective at hitting you if you are in front of them, but Batsu onlyreallyhas one attack for hitting behind them (the spinning attack). So, the game plan is very, very simple:we’re attacking the butt.Nothing but Batsu butt (if we can help it). When Batsu spins around to face you, sprint to that rump. The second you reach Batsu’s behind, unleash your Tsuba Guard attack on it. Now, from here on out, we’re going to commit to the most damaging attack sequence, which is four attacks followed by a dance attack. This will cause Soh to launch into a four-hit dance attack combo.

Typically, you don’t want to commit Soh to the final stage of their combo in the big boss battles, as it leaves them incapable of dodging or blocking. However, Batsu’s spinning attack doesn’t dothatmuch damage, so the risk-reward is in your favor.

While Soh is slashing at Batsu’s backside, set all your villagers to attack. They will swarm Batsu and, with an ascetic or two, lock it in place. You are going to have them slug it out alongside Soh until Batsu creates a gate and starts summoning Seethe. Once that happens, give them the Defense command and send them back to Yoshiro to protect her. Then, instruct them to attack once again after the Seethe have been cleared out.

How To Beat Batsu In Under One Minute

I’d say beating Batsu in under a minute may be doable on the first go, but it would take a nearly perfect run. However, the good news is that the moment you beat Batsu, you will be able to upgrade Soh, and a number of those upgrades are pretty dang powerful. If you have the Musubi, give yourself a second Tsuba Guard, and unlock the ability to use the Basin. Once you’ve done that, start the battle by using the basin, then immediately charge at Batsu alongside your Woodcutters, and use both Tsuba Guard abilities immediately on Batsu’s butt to stun it as quickly as possible.

Keep the Villagers attacking Batsu, even if they summon other Seethe.Yoshiro will need to go it alone if you are going to take Batsu down in under a minute.
