Summary
House of the Dragonseason two is really heating up, and not just because dragons are being let loose left and right. There have been episodes this season on a similar level toGame of Throneswhen the show was at its peak, and if you’re wrapped up in the hype and looking for other ways to celebrate your fandom, Merrell has something pretty unique. A line of sneakers, each pair designed to represent one of the show’s three key families - the Targaryens, the Velaryons, and the Hightowers.
Reported by Sole Retriever, the three pairs of sneakers will be released over three weeks, but you’ll need to wait until House of the Dragon’s second season is over for those three weeks to begin. The Targaryen sneakers will be available to buy from August 17, House Hightower’s green shoes will follow on August 25, and then the collection will be completed two weeks after that when the red Velaryon sneakers - my favorite of the three designs - drop on September 7.

Merrell’s House of the Dragon sneakers are different in more ways than just colors and patterns. The Targaryen shoes are a part of the Agility Peak 5 collection, one of Merrell’s most popular options that primarily provide the wearer with comfy footwear for running along trails and across rough terrain. The Targaryen shoes are gold, mimicking the dragon found on the house’s crest, with other hat tips to the current residents of King’s Landing found throughout the design.
Time To Pick A Side
House Of The Dragon x Merrell Sneakers
House of the Dragon has teamed with Merrell to create a line of sneakers, each calling a different range home, and each representing a different house from the show. There are Targaryen, Velaryon, and Hightower options available.
House Velaryon’s red Merrell sneakers are a part of the Moab 3 range. Recommended for hiking rather than running, the Velaryon shoes are red and black with a hint of gold, possibly pointing to the close (maybe a little too close) relationship between the Velaryons and Targaryens. The design also features some hat tips to the dragons on which Velaryons have ridden for centuries including leather that looks like dragonscale, and color blocking to give the impression your sneakers have dragon teeth.
If your loyalty still lies with Alicent and the Hightowers, then there’s the Moab Speed 2s. Designed with the more casual hiker in mind, the Hightower sneakers also have a design that makes the shoe look like it’s partly covered in dragonscale, and the Hightower crest along with its family tree on the insole. All three pairs will be available to buy through Merrell starting from August 25, but the prices haven’t yet been disclosed.
