Summary

It’s not been a great couple of years if you’re aHollow Knightfan, as while it seemed as though the long wait forSilksongwas finally over, the promised release window from Xbox came and went, and we’ve been in the dark ever since. There isthe occasional minor update from playtesters, but hoping for official news from Team Cherry is currently a case of crossing your fingers and toes during every mildly sizable gaming presentation. They’ve even started making fun of us for it.

Some fans havedecided to take matters into their own hands, creating their own versions of Silksong to try and make the agonizing wait seem shorter, and now a group of Hollow Knight fans have managed to put together a rather impressiveMinecraftrecreation of Silksong’s E3 demo that was playable during the convention back in 2019.

A YouTuber called Primaconhas had this project in the works for quite a while, working with fellow Hollow Knight content creator Clouser (who recently just completedtheir own Hollow Knight/Minecraft project) to make a recreation that is as accurate as possible to the playable demo we saw around five years ago. This demo included two bosses, one of which is called Lace and took place in an area called Deep Docks, while the other is called Mossmother and took place in the Moss Grotto.

Hollow Knight: Silksong’s E3 Demo Has Been Recreated In Minecraft

you may immediately see the effort on display with this project by just taking a look at the HUB world. Rather than recreate the menus seen in the E3 demo to switch between locations, Primacon’s recreation includes a big HUB world that looks absolutely stunning. Not only that, but Primacon and Clouser have added their own “flair” to the project too, including the ability to switch between Hornet and the Knight, multiplayer compatibility, and evenan original soundtrack made entirely with Minecraft music blocks.

Primacon even managed to do what Team Cherry couldn’t and actually release the thing too, as they reveal that this cool little project was actually made playable today. They also take a little bit of time in the video to explain how the challenges they faced during development gave them a “new appreciation for people like Team Cherry,” a three-person development team behind one of the most highly-anticipated titles probably ever.

Primacon’s little creation will hopefully give Silksong fans something to do while the wait for the real thing continues, and here’s hoping that Team Cherry is doing its best and taking the time it needs to deliver the masterpiece we all know it’s capable of.
