Summary

Getting all the achievements or trophies in a title is a big milestone. After that’s achieved, a lot of people will simply move on to something else, especially if it’s atough, grueling completion. However, sometimes, the game has more content or challenges to accomplish that can propel you to higher plateaus.

What’s equally important in terms of deciding to play after 100 percent is how tough the completion is in the first place. You’re much more likely to continue to play a game if the completion is fairly easy and you get the most out of your purchase.

Blasting through Industrial Zone in Doom 2.

Resident Evil 4 has so much going for it in terms of continuing to play it after 100 percent. First, the completion’s super easy, requiring only two playthroughs, one on Professional and a separate playthrough of Separate Ways. There’s a lot more to unlock here.

You have Assignment Ada, which you’re able to beat to unlock the Chicago Typewriter in Separate Ways. There’s the incredible Mercenaries mode, which achieving five stars on all stages with all characters will unlock the Handcannon. Then, there’s the campaign, which is so fun to replay, and with online leaderboards, you can speedrun through itto get the best times.

Like most fighting games, Street Fighter 6 adds new characters regularly, which is key to why you should boot up this game every once in a while. Yes, the new characters are paid DLC to play as them, but they’re available in brand-new story mode content for free. This includes new story missions that hardcore fans of Street Fighter will eat.

There’s even foreshadowing, like M. Bison’s return being very much teased in plot events before he was officially revealed at the 2024 Summer Game Fest. If your World Tour character is at a high level, each new character update should only take a couple of hours to finish all the content. Due to these hassle-free updates, you’ll continue to play despite SF6 being a very tough platinum.

About to talk to Captain Petrov in Starfield

The platinums for the OG Doom games are a little challenging, mainly because of the cooperative Nightmare difficulty trophies, but they can be done within a day if you know what you’re doing. There are so many reasons to continue to keep playing.

First, you can try getting 100 percent on kills and secrets in every level, or doing that while pistol starting every map, or if you want to go even more hardcore, do it without saving. Pistol starting every level in Doom is a totally different experience and adds a lot of replay value. Plus, there’s tons of add-ons on the Unity console ports that you can play as well, and they’re fairly regularly updated.

Get Your Score Higher And Higher

Some of thegreatest horde shooters ever madeare in theSerious Sam Collection, and the platinum’s a little tough but not too bad. You must beat one game on Serious mode, but that’s the only rough part. Due to the sheer fun factor, you’ll likely replay these games sometime down the line, and there is stuff to accomplish.

For the First and Second Encounters, you can get 100 percent kills and secrets, like Doom, but sadly, Serious Sam 3 is a bit buggy regarding total kills, so don’t worry if you miss some folks there. Most importantly, there are leaderboards, as you’re scored on your difficulty chosen, total kills and secrets, and total saves. Having a huge number of saves will majorly decrease your final score, forcing you to play better to reach the top of the leaderboards.

Like Tony Hawk, the Trials series has some of the best replay value in all of gaming. Trials Rising, in particular, is the easiest achievement list out of the four main games, and, as such, you’ll probably keep playing. Good thing, too, because the amount of content here and accomplishments is near limitless.

The big goal for pro players is achieving a Diamond medal on all 217 levels. That number includes the ninja tracks, and Black Belt can take you hundreds of hours before you finally beat it. After that, you can play the dozens of incredible community-created tracks, or if you’re truly hardcore, aim for the top of the leaderboards. If you jive with the simplistic gameplay, you can expect to sink thousands of hours into this game during your lifetime.

Fallout and Skyrim seem like prime candidates for games you’ll want to keep playing after 100 percent due to how much content there is. However, the achievement/trophy lists for Skyrimand the Fallout titlescan be a pretty long and exhausting process. By contrast, Starfield is a breeze, with the only notable grind being the journey to level 100.

As such, you’re more likely to keep playing instead of moving on to something else. With the content updates, amount of quests, 60fps, and mod support on Xbox Series consoles, there’s more than enough reasons to engorge yourself in Bethesda’s grand sci-fi open-world RPG.

Like Starfield, Cyberpunk 2077 is a breeze when going for all achievements/trophies. You’ll have to get all the endings, but as long as you save before key moments, that shouldn’t be a problem. When you’re all done, there’s a massive amount of content that’s not required for achievements.

A lot of these optional quests and activities were added in content updates, which is why they aren’t included in the base achievement list. That just makes more reason to keep playing, however, and CD Projekt Red did such a bang-up job with these updates that you’ll stay with Cyberpunk for quite a while.

Once again, Alan Wake 2 offers an incredibly easy completion, even with the DLC added. However, like theSilent Hill series, there’s a lot of loreto find and analyze within the game. The first Alan Wake forced you to find every manuscript page for achievements, but that isn’t the case with Alan Wake 2, and with many pages or notes hard to find, you’ll continue to play for those juicy lore details.

In addition, there’s a new game plus mode called The Final Draft that has even more to offer with an extended ending, a few changes here and there, and new collectibles. That mode isn’t required at all for achievements, so this game will keep you occupied longer than you may think.
