Soon, we will be one step closer to having Breaking Bad inFortnite. Not officially, at least, but certainly closer than we were before.
That’s because, later today, several newStar Warsitems will be entering the shop,according to Fortnite insider Shiina. Among those items is a Moff Gideon skin. Now, you may be wondering what the heck does Moff Gideon have to do with Breaking Bad?
Well, it’s simple, really. Gideon is played by none other than Giancarlo Esposito. If that name rings a bell, then it’s because Esposito most famously portrayed Gus Fring in Breaking Bad. In other words, we’ll have a psuedo-Gus Fring skin very soon. All we’ll need is Walter White and Jesse Pinkman to complete the cast.
Fans Are Hopeful This Is Just The Beginning
We’re not the only ones aware of the Star Wars and Breaking Bad connection, as many fans are hopeful that down the line a true Breaking Bad collaboration could be a thing.It’s important to note that a Fortnite character survey from May had Jesse Pinkman listed among the potential options. The character surveys aren’t definitive proof of a future collaboration (see Five Nights at Freddy’s), but are a good way to gauge fan interest.
That said, it’s certainly a step to where fans hope the series can go.Taking to Reddit, several fans took it upon themselves to quote their favorite Gus Fring lines in celebration of the upcoming skin. “Last chance to look at me, Jonesy,“one excited fan wrote.
Here’s hoping the other characters aren’t too far off, even if they aren’t exactly from the world of Breaking Bad. A Hal from Malcom in the Middle skin in place of Walter White would do just fine. As would a Need for Speed skin for Jesse. Now wouldn’t that be wild?
