Summary
Epic Gameshas officially revealedFortnite’s map for theMarvel-themed Chapter 5 Season 4, and it looks like it’s going to have a whole lot of love for Doctor Doom.
Although Fortnite’s fifth Chapter kicked off very stronglythanks to the addition of Lego Fortnite and Fortnite Festival(as well asPeter Griffin and Solid Snake, of course), it’s fair to say that it’s been a bit of a bumpier road since then. I mean road very literally, because the low-point of Chapter 5 so far was the Wrecked season, which focused entirely on car combat and got stale quickly.
When you’re in a bit of a slump, what else is there to do other than ask Marvel for help? That’s exactly what Fortnite has done with Chapter 5 Season 4, which is called Absolute Doom andacts as another Marvel collaboration. We’ve seen a fair bit of the new season thanks to D23 and Twitter reveals, but Epic has jumped the gun and unveiled the new season’s map.
Fortnite Absolute Doom Season Map Revealed
Just a few days ago,Epic shared a cloudy image that teased the new map for Chapter 5 Season 4, obscuring the new locations with green fog. Well, that fog has now lifted and given us our best look yet at the latest Season’s map, including showing us all of its Points of Interest. The map looks mostly the same as it did in the Wrecked season, although its three POIs are where the real differences lie.
Interestingly, Absolute Doom has also added back in the train from Chapter 5 Season 1. Not the most popular addition from that Season, but it’s nice to see it return.
To the West of the map is an area called “The Raft”, which is almost definitely a reference to the supervillain jail that is commonly seen in Marvel, something that was also teased in the trailer for the Season. Right near to that is Doomstadt, which is the largest city of Latveria in the Marvel comics and, as the name implies, a location that’s very close to Doctor Doom’s heart.
Finally, and most excitingly of all, there’s Castle Doom, which will very likely be where players can go up against Doom and take his mythic for themselves. Epic usually shares some information about the POIs closer to the season’s release, so we can expect that in the next few days. For now, though, rest easy knowing the map is fairly similar to last seasons, just without all the annoying cars.
