AFinal Fantasy 14actor has called out the abuse she’s online received since appearing in Dawntrail expansion. Sena Bryer, who plays Wuk Lamat inDawntrail, says that she’s been subject to death threats, doxxing threats, and transphobic abuse across social media.
Speaking on Twitter, Bryer also says that the industry has been “dead silent” about the abuse she has received. This is despite it being a known issue in the Final Fantasy 14 community since Dawntrail launched, to the point where some abusers were leaving transphobic abuse in reviews for the expansion onSteam.

“Not to babycry my own woes but in the past month I’ve had misgendering, death/rape threats, doxxing attempts, threats against my family, etc in every post and all across Twitch/YouTube/Reddit, all bc I voiced a Final Fantasy character, and my industry has been dead silent,” says Bryer.
“I’ve been hiding & blocking most of them but it’s been like this every single day, on every single tweet,” she continues. “Doesn’t matter what it’s about either, I got one when I talked about an avocado toast I made for lunch.”
As we reported last month, Dawntrail had fallen to “mixed” reviews on Steam after it washit with a wave of negative reviews. Some were transphobic, misgendering Bryer and attacking the casting of a trans woman in the first place.
In response to Bryer’s tweet, many fans are expressing their support for the actor and calling out the bigotry in the community.
