Summary

Final Fantasy 14’s Dawntrail expansion is officially here. Not just for those with early access, but for everybody. Many of you will have already ventured deep into Tural and be well on your way to finding everything the expansion has to offer. Whether you’re already tens of hours in or just about to embark on your new adventure,Square EnixandXboxhave shared a way to make it even better - by creating your own Final Fantasy 14 controllers using Design Lab.

Two custom designs have been shared via Final Fantasy 14’s Twitter account, one based on a Pictomancer, and the other a Viper. The Pictomancer controller uses Xbox’s Dream Vapor design and combines it with Glacier Blue thumbsticks and a Retro Pink d-pad, all on a standard controller. The Viper option is a Garnet Red elite controller with Noctural Green thumbsticks and a metallic silver d-pad.

Clicking the links in the post will take you to the pages where you can buy the controllers, fully customized and ready to add to your cart. However, if you think you can tweak them to make them look even better, or you don’t like some of the chosen color options, you can change whatever you like as you would with any other Design Lab controller. Just bear in mind that some customization options will increase the final price.

A Pictomancer Should Really Be Using A Pictomancer Controller

Speaking of how much the controllers cost, provided you leave them as they are and don’t tweak them, the Elite Viper controller is $149.99, andthe Standard Pictomancer option is $79.98. The Viper controller doesn’t have any add-ons so just costs the same as a regular Elite controller, whereas the Pictomancer one is $10 extra since it’s the Dream Vapor design. Worth noting Final Fantasy 14 options haven’t been added to Design Lab. These are just designs curated by Square to match the looks associated with certain jobs in the MMORPG.

While Final Fantasy 14 might not have specific customization options on Design Lab,Fallout does, and they’re still available. Standard controllers can be given an all-over printFalloutcoat of paint with Vault Boy holding a controller of his own on the handle. Perhaps the controller he’s holding has an even smaller Vault Boy holding a controller on it, and then his has a Vault Boy too, and so on, and so on.
