Teamfight TacticsSet 12 has plenty of unique team builds that can lead you down a path of success to a top-four finish. There are a lot of new traits and augments to learn, but no matter what set you play, there will be a three-cost reroll composition that is relatively easy to understand and build for.
For Set 12, Magic N' Mayhem, the three-cost unit to focus on is Katarina. There are two different versions of a Katarina reroll composition that work in ranked play and understanding what units to get, what time to level up, and what items to build are slightly different for each.

How To Choose The Right Katarina Reroll Team
Faerie Vs. Warrior
In TFT, focusing on a specific build is important, butvarious factors can influence how you construct your team. For instance, if you can’t roll the early game units required for a particular composition, it can make building that team much more challenging.
The two variations of the Katarina reroll team comprevolve around her traits:FaerieandWarrior. Building her withmore Faerie teammateswill be the focus if you may geta Faerie emblem. If you can’t,stick to Warrioras you willnot need a Warrior emblemto complete the full squad. Both teams are described below.

How To Play The Warrior Katarina Reroll Team Composition
Here is the ideal Warrior Katarina Reroll team composition.
The Warrior version of the Katarina Reroll composition hasthree key aspects: athree-star Katarina, two powerful allyWarrior unitsalongside her, and aRakan tankto absorb damage and take the heat off of the damage dealers.
The goal is to build the team listed above, but good replacement unitsearly gameincludeNilah, Tristana, and Seraphine. Getting the Faerie trait active early willempower your Katarina, as the trait offers the free itemFaerie Queen’s Crownfor a Faerie unit when active. Pair that witha Jeweled Gauntlet and a Hand of Justiceto make Katarina a blender that does a lot of damage and heals herself.

Theitems for Katarinaarethe same for the Warrior and Faerie compositions.
Level up every time a stage comes around, asides fromhitting level four at 2-1 and level five at 2-6.Save your goldtoroll down at level sevento try and get three-star Katarina, while also picking upNasus, Gwen, Rakan, and Fiorawhen they pop up. Puthealing and AD items on Fioraorhealing and AP items on Gwen, but the most important thing for your four-costs is to gettank items on Rakan.

Rakan’s best itemsareWarmog’s Armor, Gargoyle Stoneplate, and Ionic Spark, which stay the same across both variations of this team composition.
How To Play The Faerie Katarina Reroll Team Composition
Here is the ideal Faerie Katarina Reroll team composition.
The Faerie Katarina reroll comp still focuses onthree-starring Katarina and building a tank Rakan, but swaps the Gwen and Fiora damage dealers forKalista and Milio. This composition also works best witha Faerie Emblem to hit six Faerie unitsin the late game without needing to hit the rare five-cost unit Milio.
The level up times are the same for both these reroll compositions, focusing on hitting level seven on 4-1androlling down to three-star Katarina. This time, you also want to pick upHecarim, Kalista, and Rakan. But, alongside getting Rakan those tank items, get Kalista two Guinsoos Ragebladesandput the Eternal Monarch’s Crown on herwhen you unlock it.

Then, when you hit level eight, you cantry and get Milioand get magic caster items like the Spear of Shojin, Archangel’s Staff, and Nashor’s Tooth.
Lastly, the nice thing about the Katarina reroll composition is howyou can pivot between Warrior and Faeriedepending on your luck. You get Gwen or Fiora earlier than expected? Focus on Warrior. You get an early Spatula and know you may get the Faerie emblem? Build Faerie and try and get those Guinsoos Rageblades built ahead of time for Kalista.
