And so, over the years, tons of fighting game enthusiasts have taken it upon themselves to create unique fighting sticks to go along with their supreme skill.
So much so that there’s an entire Reddit group for people to discuss all things fight stick related, including customizations, tips and tricks. That subreddit has spawned numerous creative fight sticks over the years, including ones dedicated to Neon Genesis Evangelion and Donkey Kong’s Bongos from Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, among others.

That said, a streamer and fighting game enthusiast took things to the next level at this year’s Evo competition. Their custom fightstick is an actual full-scale buster sword replicafromFinal Fantasy VII. And it’s insanely impressive.
The Buster Sword Is Practical And Super Realistic
As first spotted on Twitter by Gaming Gen, streamerKingyoupped the fight stick game with a replica Buster Sword, complete with actual input buttons and a connection cable.

Taking a look at Kingyo’s Twitter account, it appears the entire process took about a month or so from start to finish. The fighting game enthusiast shared nearly every step of their process, including the sheer amount of sanding it took to mold the acrylic.
It began with some laser cutting:
Then there was the actual plate for the buttons:
The individual pieces finally came together, but they had to actually be shaped:

And after some testing, the final product was ready to go:
