Deadpool & Wolverine is an incredibly successful R-rated superhero movie that has established a new standard for what to expect from Marvel and Disney. There’s just the right amount of action and hilarity, and the multiverse that we were all tired of has been dialed down a bit.
Deadpool himself jokes about how the MCU is currently at a low-point, but this movie kind of brought it back. When Deadpool is jumping through timelineslooking for a Wolverine to replace Logan as the anchor being, he runs into all kinds of variants, most of which have an interesting story behind them in the comics.

Wolverine Vs. The Hulk
In the golden era of the Uncanny X-Men comics,Wolverine sported a yellow and brown suit instead of his iconic yellow and blue suit. Deadpool & Wolverine showcases what could’ve beenif that suit was brought to life in a live-action movie.
This version of Wolverineis fighting the Hulkwhen Deadpool shows up and interrupts their fight, paying homage to when the pair fought in the comics.

Short King Wolverine
Canonically, the X-Men comics have establishedthat Wolverine’s height is 5’3. Of course,Hugh Jackman’s version of Wolverine is around 6’2and at this point you wonder if the movies are faithful if theycan’t even get a detail like this one right.
But jokes aside, Deadpool and Wolverinemanaged to poke fun at this detailby having Deadpool run into acomic-accurate short-king Wolverinethat has a digitally shrunk Hugh Jackmanlooking anything but intimidating.

Old Man Logan
The movie Logan washeavily inspired by the Old Man Logan comic story, but it wasn’t quite the Old Man Logan we were expecting. That version was delivered in the Deadpool & Wolverine movie.
One of the universes Deadpool drops intowas the one where the supervillains triumphedand most of theX-Men were dead. He’s confronted by the live-action Old Man Logan andgets shot before he has a chance to say anything.

This Wolverine doesn’t endup being the anchor being, but he was as close as Deadpool could get to theoriginal Logan.
Patch
Patch is supposed to be Wolverine’s alter ego, a disguise he uses to operate in the criminal underworld in Madripoor.
In the movie,he appears to be playing pokerwhile sporting an eye patch andthere’s no denying he looks stylish.

As Deadpool approaches him, Patch casuallyimpales his head with his claws, ending this universe’s Wolverine as apotential anchor being as well.
Weapon Omega
Another Wolverine that wastaken directly from the comicswas a wolverine from theAge of Apocalypse event. This one is missing an entire arm and has an even morewild and animalistic lookthan the regular Wolverine.
His scars and markings as wellas his iconic suitwere fun to see in Deadpool & Wolverine.

This Wolverine ishardened by the circumstances surrounding him, with baser instincts, as he’s forced tosurvive in a world with Apocalypse having wonin his quest for world domination.
Crucified Wolverine
Crucified Wolverine wastough to look at in the movieas we see our beloved Logannailed on a wooden Xinstead of a cross while it’s raining.
There’s nothing butbloody skulls and skeletonssurrounding a clearly defeated Wolverine.

The Wolverine wasinspired by the comic book story ‘Fever Dream’, where Wolverine is hanged similar to how he was in the movie whilehe’s constantly haunted by hallucinations.
The cover of this comicshows a crucified Wolverinethat the movie has adapted perfectly.

The Cavillrine
A Wolverine that we never thought we’d see wasHenry Cavill’s debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universeas the titular Logan. This Wolverine was shown as what could be if Henry Cavilltook up the mantle of the Wolverine.
Deadpool shows up andsees Wolverine fixing his heavy bike. When he turns around, Henry Cavill punches Deadpoolstraight back to where he came from, but not before Deadpool says what we were all thinking;the Cavillrine just feels right.

The Worst Wolverine
The worst Wolverine is an alcoholic Wolverine past his prime, who eventually joins Deadpoolwhen they’re both banished to the void.
As the secondary protagonist, this Logan is considered to bethe worst Wolverine in the multiversebecause he failed to save the X-Men andheaded out to get drunk instead.
Because of this, he thinks that he isn’t worthy of any admiration, but still decidesto help Deadpool save his universe.
As Laura said in the movie, Logan was never theright person to save them till he was.
This version of Wolverinealso has the iconic yellow suit, and he looks great sporting it,especially in the final fight against all the Deadpoolsand Cassandra Nova.
Logan
Logan was the anchor being of the Deadpool universe, and his farewell in the Logan movie was one that was absolutely perfect.
If Deadpool and Wolverine had brought this version back, then the sacrifice would’ve all been for nothing, but thankfully, they went for a different approach.
Logan washeavily inspired by Old Man Loganbut was also different in a lot of ways. He is remembered for his courage and is known for being one of the most heroic X-Men ever, despite losing everything.
He saves Laura and the other mutant children, but dies in the process, sacrificing himself in one of themost emotional send-offspossible for a character like Wolverine.
