It’s been the better part of a month sinceMonopoly Golast gave us the opportunity to dig for treasures, but we have once again been given the opportunity to join Sophia and help “liberate” some valuables. This time, we’ll be diving into the ocean digging up old crud from the sea’s floor. Until that is,4PM EST on September 3rd,as that is when the Mermaid Treasures event ends, and we’ll have to say goodbye to Sophia once again.
This time around, there are only 20 milestones to hit during this Treasures event. But that doesn’t mean that the Mermaid Treasures event will be a cakewalk, as you will be digging through massive areas lined with hard rocks that will require multiple pickaxes.
Collect Pickaxes To Play Mermaid Treasures
So, to get started, you’re going to need one thing to makeanyheadway in Mermaid Treasures: pickaxes. You will be given a few of those free of charge at the start of the event, completing your daily missions will also yield a few. However, if you are going to get anywhere, you need to compete in the daily tournaments and progress in the big milestone events. Each of these has pickaxes scattered throughout them.
At the time of writing this guide, theAtlantean Adventureis the big active event, while theHarmony Hustleis the current active tournament. Between the two, you have close to 400 pickaxes you are able to obtain. And since the Mermaid Treasures event is running for four days, there will be more where those came from.
Tips For Clearing Mermaid Treasures Stages
The first few dig sites are relatively small. You won’t have to dig around too much before you’ll either hit a treasure, or you’ll at least encounter a mole and clear large segments of the grid. However, as you get deeper in, you’ll encounter some pretty substantial areas that will require you to peck around quite a bit.
It is always worth considering the size and shape of each object you are looking for. Don’t just haphazardly chip away at any random piece of stone. You’ll see the outline of the available treasures above, so that should be your guiding light.
There is one major hindrance in the form of hardened stones. These will takemultiplehits to clear. Just make sure you are certain there is a bit of treasure underneath it.Thankfully, you also have little mole helpers. If you encounter one of them,they’ll either clear a verticalorhorizontal row.Occasionally, they’ll clear all the tiles surrounding them.
Available Prizes In Mermaid Treasures
There are three primary items you’ll be aiming for. Firstly, on the 10th stage, you’ll be able to obtain aunique Shield.If you make it all the way to the 16th stage, you’ll be able to earn aunique Token.Finally, if you complete the entire gauntlet, you’ll be able to earn one of the covetedWild Stickerrewards.
For those not in the know, the Wild Sticker will give you any sticker you want. Which is invaluable to those looking to finish off their sticker packs.
