Complete Monsterpedia Overview
You can check your Monsterpedia in Monster Hunter Stories at any time from theCamp Menu, on the second page. This functions as alog of monsters you battle or hatch, each offering a unique incentive after defeating them or hatching a monstie of that species.
Once you’ve opened the Monsterpedia, you’ll see two different sorting options:
These two subsections allow the game to keep track of these metrics separately, since youearn different rewards for defeating than you do for hatchinga new monster. You’ll see a"new" iconwhen you have rewards to collect in either category, and you’re able to opt to collect them all at once if you’re not particular about the breakdown of which monster offered what.
If you steal the egg of a monster you defeated in a monster den, it kills two birds with one stone in your Monsterpedia.
When facing new monsters as you venture through the different areas of Monster Hunter Stories, you’ll quickly find thatwhen monsters have different colorways, each color has its own entry and stats. For example, we list data below for the monster, Konchu, several times because you’ll find it in four different color variants, each indifferent areas and with different behaviors/statswhen you face them. Don’t try to apply blanket knowledge because of the species similarity!
Finally, you’ll notice thatthe numbers are different for Wild Monsters and Monstiesin the Monsterpedia. For example, Velociprey is labeled “002” in the Wild Monster section but “007” in the Monsties section. Just be mindful of which section you’re checking, since you’ll unlock them for completing different tasks.
