Summary

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtreeis pretty rough, and that’s mostly down to the game’s first handful of hours. You can gradually get used to the difficulty as the DLC progresses, butsome of the early boss fights can put you in your placefor a substantial amount of time. Rellana, Twin Moon Knight is one such wall, a fast and brutal boss who can easily put you in your place if you underestimate her. She did me, anyway.

Thankfully, it seems as though there’s a very easy way to cheese your way through the fight, and it doesn’t require you to step foot into her arena at all.First shared by the Twitter account ZioStorm1, this strategy involves making your way to the back of Castle Ensis and running up to the fog wall that’s to the rear of Rellana’s arena.

Once there, you can press yourself up against the fog wall and castthe incantation Flame of the Fell God, which casts a slow-moving ball of fire that explodes on contact. Line yourself up against the fog wall properly, and this ball of fire will be cast inside the arena and slowly float towards Rellana, eventually exploding and further damaging her with the flames left behind. Do this enough, and you can take out Rellana without having to engage her in combat.

How Do You Get To Rellana’s Rear Fog Wall?

Of course, actually reaching the rear of Rellana’s arena without beating her means you need to skip the entirety of Castle Ensis, and thanks to FromSoftware’s brilliant approach to open world level design, you can do that. There are a couple of ways, but the quickest and easiest involvesa couple of irritating Spiritspringsthat you can find to the south of Castle Ensis. All you need to do is travel to the Castle Front grace, turn around and head left.

After that, you’ll need to take the path leading down, and then follow another path on the left leading further down. You should be able to follow that path to a locked Spiritspring that can be unlocked either by destroying a nearby cairn,or by using Margit’s Shackle. Jump up the Spiritspring with Torrent, and then do the same with the second, and you’ll find yourself in Scadu Altus, in which you can make your own way to the back of Castle Ensis.
