Summary

Messmer the Impalermight not be as hard asElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree’sfinal boss or Bayle the Dread, who sits perched atop the Jagged Peak waiting to grind us into Tarnished dust, but he’stough.

A lot of players are struggling to beat him, so much so thatLet Me Solo Her even returned to help, but there’s a chance Messmer will win the fight for you.

Duringthe review period,I ran into a similar glitch with the final boss. He jumped through the wall and out of the arena, but he didn’t die, so I had to reload the fight.

A new bug, as shown off in the clips below, sees him launch over the railing into the abyss after using an attack that propels him backwards. It might not be as satisfying as killing him yourself, but at least it’s over with, eh?

Messmer Can Also Float, Ominously

It’s not the only strange bug people have run into. Another Reddit user by the name of Eskuiso shared a clip last week of Messmer ominously floating in the air at the end of the fight, refusing to die despite having no health left.

Eskuiso and their summons waited five minutes to see if he would finally kick the bucket, but after nothing happened, they decided to leave. Next time, just bait him into jumping off the balcony. Easy peasy.

Not everyone is happy with Messmer flinging himself into the abyss, though. While it’s a hard fight,it’s a triumph to overcome those odds, and seeing such a notoriously difficult boss one-shot KO themselves flies in the face of that.

It’ll no doubt be patched down the line, so if you want to cheese Messmer, now’s the time to do it, but if you want to fight him properly, it might be worth holding off just in case.
