Summary
Each ofElden Ring’s demigods is exceedingly powerful but if you asked a player which demigod they thought was the strongest, they’d probably point to Malenia or Starscourge Radahn. After all, the battle between these two at Caelid was so intense that it caused the entire land to become ravaged by Scarlet Rot, the subject of afamous Elden Ring trailer.
However, one of the demigods usually absent from the conversation despite evidence of his immense power is Morgott, the Omen King. Morgott is the direct offspring of Queen Marika and Godfrey, the first Elden Lord. There’s certainly an argument to be made that Morgott’s blood is ‘purer’ (omen status aside) than that of Radahn, the spawn of Radagon and Renalla, and Miquella, who was born of Marika and Radagon.

This subject re-emerged in arecent Reddit threadwhere Radahn was called a “fraud” because of his defeat at the hands of Morgott in the opening cinematic of Elden Ring. A lot of the commenters quickly pointed out that Radahn isn’t pretending to be powerful, it’s just that Morgott is possibly even stronger than Radahn.
Morgott Is More Powerful Than (Base) Radahn
In the still image during the opening, we Morgott standing over a downed Radahn, seemingly having bested him. We also know that during the war, Morgott held the royal capital of Leyndell, arguably the most important location in The Lands Between. Furthermore, from the item description of Margit’s (Morgott’s alter-ego) cloak that he “slaughtered countless champions during the Shattering.” Lore-wise, Morgott is obviously a force to be reckoned with.
However, the issue is that Morgott is quite an easy boss fight by Elden Ring standards. The Omen King doesn’t have a lot of health, and players are often over-levelled by the time they reach him. This creates a perception that Morgott is one of the weaker demigods when he’s actually among the strongest if not the strongest.

Radahn’s new form in Shadow of the Erdtree may re-open this conversation, but the two don’t even operate on the same plane of existence so perhaps the point is moot.
Malenia may be the hardest boss mechanically, and Radahn may be the chosen of Miquella, but people shouldn’t disrespect the Omen King.
