Summary

Elden Ringis a magical game, hiding all kinds of little secrets and discoveries so well that we keep finding things out about the game years after release. Just before the release ofShadow of the Erdtree, it was discovered thatWalking Mausoleums could be pushed around with a certain incantation, which then eventually led to someonepushing one off a cliff to see what would happen.

Pushing a massive lumbering mausoleum off a cliff isn’t exactly helpful though (it’s actually harmful, if anything), but a new discovery may have just changed the game for anyone that likes throwing consumables around. First shared byReddit user ReasonableTreeStump(amazing name), a lot of Elden Ring fans are just finding out that you can actually store the contents of pots and perfumes so you can reuse either the pot or the bottle for a different type.

What with pots and perfume bottles being limited - therefore limiting the amount you could craft at once - many assumed that you had to throw your pots or perfume awayif you wanted to switch to a different type. For example, if you have a bunch of fire pots, but wanted to switch to freezing pots to exploit a boss’s weakness, it was presumed that you’d need to use up your existing fire pots before you could make more. Turns out, you don’t, you’re able to just store them in your chest.

Elden Ring Fans Are Just Realizing You Can Store Pots And Perfume

It turns out that ReasonableTreeStump wasn’t the only person that had no idea it was a thing, as you can find many other fans in the Reddit thread completely stunned by this discovery. There are people like user Gaxsezu mourning all the crafting materials they’ve wasted throwing pots against the wall, and people who are eternally grateful for the tip, like user Mammoth_Border_3904, who says they’ve “changed the lives of countless others.”

Other people are also realizing that this means pots will act like regular consumables and will refill at Graces, meaning you can actually craft pots in bulk and have them replenished without having to go in and craft them again. There’s even a toggle you can activate in the chest feature that stops your pots refilling with the wrong type. ReasonableTreeStump has completely changed the game, and now I’m off to go do a consumable run of Elden Ring posthaste.
