Summary
The next set ofDragon Ball: Sparking Zerocharacter reveals have leaked thanks to V-Jump, but it’s fair to say that fans are a little underwhelmed.
Considering how long we’ve waited for a new Budokai Tenkaichi game, it’s been a bit of a wonder to see just how muchBandai Namcohas had to regularly share about Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero. We’ve had character reveals and new trailers pretty much every monthsince the game was announced at The Game Awards last year, and that doesn’t appear to be changing any time soon.
We already know that Sparking Zero is going to have a presence at Gamescom this year(which hopefully means a big announcement on the level of GT or Dragon Ball content), but it seems that we’re also going to be getting a trailer this month. The contents of that upcoming showcase seem to have been leaked by the next issue of V-Jump, which has shown at least a few of the new characters who will show up.
Sparking Zero’s Next Character Trailer Is All About The Cell Saga
As showcased by Twitter user DBSparkingZER0, the latest issue of V-Jump has leaked ahead of its release later this month, and it features a page dedicated to Sparking Zero. That page confirms that the next set of character reveals will focus on the Cell Saga, although many of the fighters shown are ones we already know about.
The only two characters who are brand new in the latest issue of V-Jump are Android 16 and Android 19, who aren’t exactly surprising picks seeing as how they’re in most Dragon Ball games. The page also shows Future Trunks and Goku Black, who have previously been revealed but might be having a bigger spotlight put on them.
Interestingly, the issue seems to also confirm thatAndroid 17’s Z form will be a separate fighter from the Super variantand not just a costume change. It doesn’t look like 18 is getting the same treatment, though.
The most exciting part of the issue is that there’s a small section that shows Super Saiyan 2 Gohan firing his Father-Son Kamehameha against Perfect Cell, which suggests those two are finally going to get a proper spotlight. We’d already seen them in trailers before, but we surprisingly haven’t seen any gameplay just yet. Looks like that’s going to change in the next trailer.
Beyond that, though, the reaction to the V-Jump leaks has been a little tepid compared to previous showcases, with fans pointing out that we’ve seen most of what is on offer here. Here’s hoping there are a few more surprises in store.
