Summary

The latest character showcase trailer forDragon Ball: Sparking Zerohas shown off the Android and Cell sagas, confirming that Mecha Frieza, Base Teen Gohan, and every form of Cell will be playable.

Even though it feels like we’ve had a nearly endless supply ofcharacter showcase trailers for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero over the past few months, we’re finallyapproaching the end point with the October release date fast approaching. That means that we’ve only got a few showcases left until the roster is fully revealed andhopefully features GT and OG Dragon Ball fighters.

The last character showcase trailer we received for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero focused on the Saiyan and Namek Sagas, which didn’t have many fighters left to announce. That wasn’t the case for today’s trailer, though, which focused on the Android and Cell sagas and revealed a bunch of characters who were previously unannounced.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’s Latest Trailer Confirms Base Teen Gohan Is Playable

The trailer started off by revealing two new characters from the start of the Android Saga - Mecha Frieza and Trunks (Sword), who has previously only been shown off in his Super variant. We then saw pretty much every story-centric Android in action, such as Android 16, Android 17, Android 18, and even Dr. Gero.

The Android reveals weren’t particularly surprising,as they were featured in the most recent issue of V-Jump a few weeks ago.

The most exciting part of the trailer was when things shifted over to the Cell Saga. Not only do we have every single version of Cell playable in Sparking Zero, but we also finally saw Teen Gohan in action after he was confirmed to be in the game during the Summer Game Fest story mode trailer.

Fellow Gohan fans will be very happy to see that his base form is playable in Sparking Zero, something that XenoVerse and FighterZ have both left out in the past. That made sense considering how little he fights in that form, but it’s a great show of just how dedicated the Budokai Tenkaichi series is at getting every single variant of a character in.

Beyond that, we also got confirmation that Piccolo will have another form in Sparking Zero, as he’s seen in his Fused with Kami state during the trailer. He’s also likely to get a Super: Super Hero variant as part of the game’s season pass, so it looks like big green is getting a lot of love this time around.
