Summary

A new gameplay clip of Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku inDragon Ball: Sparking Zerohas drawn some complaints from fans, who don’t think he looks as good as he should.

As the near-endless number of gameplay trailers and character showcases prove, there are a ton of exciting fighters in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’s roster.Even though I’m looking forward to mastering Krillin, Future Gohan, and Trunks(Sword, of course), the most interesting characters are the ones from Super that aremaking their debut in the Budokai Tenkaichi series.

That notably includes Goku’s Ultra Instinct Sign and Mastered Ultra Instinct forms, which were revealed a few months ago and have quickly become some of the most hyped forms in the whole game. While Ultra Instinct Sign Goku has generally seen a lot of positive feedback, it seems that fans are a little less hot on Mastered Ultra Instinct.

Dragon Ball Fans Aren’t Impressed With MUI Goku’s Design

Earlier this week,PlayStation Japan’s YouTube account shared a TV commercial for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zerothat featured a few seconds of previously unseen gameplay. That footage showcased a bit more of Goku Black in his Super Saiyan Rose Form as well as more of Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku, who is shown a rush attack.

While it should be a treat to see more of Goku’s most powerful form, the new footage has resulted in a surprising amount of complaints from fans, who are disappointed that it looks like a “cheap action figure”.Over on the Budokai Tenkaichi subreddit, Redditor Chronoz1995 shared an image comparing the new look at MUI in Sparking Zero to how it looks in the anime performing the same move.

It seems that most fans are in agreement that Sparking Zero’s version of MUI simply doesn’t look as good as it does in the anime or how it looked in FighterZ. Some have pointed out that his gi is the wrong colour, while others think he should be showing a bit more emotion when pulling off the move that’s taken from the anime.

Some have even pointed out that Sparking Zero has one of the best Perfect Cell models of all-timeand used that as a reason for why MUI should look better.

In fact, there are even some fan edits popping up that attempt to fix some of the problems with Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku, such as this one from Twitter user AnzGiancarlo. The edit does make some of the faults a little clearer, like the eyes and hair being the wrong colour and Goku being a little too skinny.Considering how Spike has responded to fan requests in the past, it’s possible that it does so for MUI.
