Summary
Dragon Age: The Veilguardis easily one of the biggest games we know is coming this year that we still don’t have a release date for. For whatever reason, BioWare has been rather shy about putting a specific date on when we’ll be able to get our hands on the game, possibly due tothe developer’s history with crunch cultureand beingburned by rough launches.
It’s been an agonizing wait for Dragon Age fans, and following the reveal earlier this week thatThe Veilguard will launch at some point in Q3 2024, BioWare has revealed that it’s almost ready for the elusive release date announcement. In a blog post on the official BioWare website, the studio explains that it hs more details to share on Dragon Age: The Veilguard next month, including a roadmap, more gameplay trailers, and that highly-requested release date.

We’ll have more to share next month – including a new roadmap, more looks at the game, and our official release date…
BioWare doesn’t mention exactly when this big reveal will take place, but it seems pretty likely that it will be atGeoff Keighley’s annual Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase, which will take place on August 20. It’s the biggest gaming event of the month by far, and has had some big reveals in the past, so it feels almost certain BioWare will have a big showing there. Either that, or it’ll just tweet out the release date - you never really know these days.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Will Get New Trailers And A Roadmap Next Month
With us swiftly approaching the end of the summer, it’s unsurprising that EA and BioWare are starting to ramp up the marketing of The Veilguard, and hopefully we’ll see some announcements with a little more substance than the ones we’ve been getting so far. BioWare has been pretty sly with its teases so far, confirming with TheGamer that"loved characters" will be brought back, but stopping short of mentioning exactly who.
We’ve also had teases that The Veilguardwon’t have a canon storyline or world state, meaning whatever decisions you go with is your version of the story. BioWare has also been leaning into the companion relationship side of things a lot more in The Veilguard too, as it claims it’sthe “most romantic” game its ever made. If you’ve played BioWare’s previous games, you know how wild of a statement that is.
