Summary
Dragon Age: The Veilguarddevs break downhow transmog will work, explaining that the DLC armour is purely cosmetic.
This comes from aQ&A with fans, in which The Veilguard director Corinne Busche explains exactly how transmog will be handled. Here, Busche says that it will work much the same as it does in other games, with players able to swap the appearance and stats of armour. However, she adds that there are some “transmog only” armours that we’ll find in-game, which are just cosmetic.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s Director Explains How Transmog Will Work
“You’ll find some appearance-only cosmetics that are specifically used just for transmog,” says Busche. “These are some of the fancier or more niche pieces of gear. Maybe you end up looking like a training dummy, for instance.”
She adds that the Blood Dragon armour is an example of this. “They’re effectively evergreen. you’re able to use them anytime you like without compromising your stats.”

Busche continues, explaining where we can find these cosmetics. “So you’ll get these appearance datas from opening treasure chests, exploring the world, and more frequently, from vendors,” she says. “If you’re in it for fashion, check out those vendor inventories, because they got you.
“I would also say that you can transmog your casual wear, so field wear and casual wear are fully transmogable. If you want to be in plate mail while you’re hanging around The Lighthouse as a mage, more power to you.”

Presumably, this also means we can hang out in The Lighthouse with our DLC armour equipped at all times - which is great news for older fans who want torep their love of Dragon Age: Origins. Sorry, babe, the Blood Dragon armour staysonduring the romance scene.
This is far from the only tidbit of information we got from the Q&A. We also gota breakdown of Morrigan’s new look, as creative director John Epler explains why she looks so different.
