Summary
Dragon Age: Originsmay have the least romance options out of all the games in the series, but it probably has the flirtiest characters of the lot. No, I’m not just talking about Zevran - everyone in Ferelden was into the Warden. Better yet, you could hit on these NPCs too, even if it never went anywhere.
Now,Dragon Agefans are hoping that this feature from Origins comes back inDragon Age: The Veilguard. After all, it would open up so many more characters to romantic encounters, even if not full romances. And with The Veilguard taking us to a bunch of previously unseen locations, the opportunities are endless.

BioWare Fans Want Mini-Romances In Dragon Age: The Veilguard
Shout out to Reddit user slydissonance forkicking off this discussionin the Dragon Age subreddit. Here, they say that “more NPCs should be romanceable” in The Veilguard. They even bring up one of the more memorable flirty NPCs from Origins, Teagan Guerrin. Fun fact, he’s so down bad for a female Warden that he’ll even make a pass at you if you’re in a relationship with his nephew, Alistair. They just don’t write them like they used to.
This got other fans thinking about how The Veilguard could pull this off. User tabristheok suggests The Veilguard could have “minor romances” likeMass Effect: Andromeda, which let you pursue smaller romantic subplots with non-crewmates. Similarly, ondurdis33 suggests that one-night stands to make a return, afterDragon Age: Inquisitionlargely made us stick with longer-term endeavours.

Dragon Age: Origins let you shack up with three characters in one sitting - Zevran, Leliana, and Isabela.Baldur’s Gate 3outdid this withfivecharacters getting together for some funin one encounter, so the ball is back in BioWare’s court now.
As it stands, we won’t be hurting for romance options in The Veilguard. Every single companion can be wooed by our player character, Rook, giving us seven candidates right off the bat. Each one can be romanced regardless of gender and race.

It won’t be long until we find out if there are more opportunities for hook ups outside of this. Dragon Age: The Veilguard is set to launch this autumn.
