Summary
Call of Dutyhas been hitting it out of the park as of late with its pop culture collaborations.Between a crossover with Fallout, thepresence of Mobile Suit Gundam-themed suits and weapons, anda re-launch of The Boys-themed content, Activision’s first-person shooter franchise has seemingly been all over the most popular IP. And it looks like there won’t be any slowdown anytime soon, because a recent datamine suggests a massive upcoming movie will be making its way into the world ofWarzoneandModern Warfare 3multiplayer.
According to a leak via a dataminer named “crashfty,“a crossover between Call of Duty andMarvel Studios' upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movieappears to be in the works. While exact details of the collaboration are yet to be mined, it appears that, at the very least, Deadpool-themed finishing moves will be available. As to when the crossover might happen, that also remains to be seen. But Deadpool & Wolverine is slated for release on July 26, meaning content could be coming relatively soon.

The Finishing Moves Are Exactly What Deadpool Has Been Known To Do
Taking to Twitter, “crashfty,” shared three small video clips of would-be finishing movesthat look exactly like the sort of thing Deadpool has been known to do in the past. They all revolve around the Merc with a Mouth, teasing his opponent before shooting them in the face. The finishing moves all end with the dummy model waving goodbye in very Deadpool-like fashion.

The potential collaboration gained more steam when a separate Twitter user uploaded video of the finishing moves, complete with actual character models. These stand in contrast to the datamined clips showcasing dummy models.
Now, it’s important to note that, according to “crashfty,” no skins were found in their datamine, meaning that they either haven’t surfaced, or that the collaboration is a lot more basic in its approach. More so, to this point, no Wolverine content has been found. It would be odd to have an overarching Deadpool & Wolverine collaboration without Wolverine content, so it’ll be interesting to see how he fits into things, if at all.
That said, with it now officially being July, and the movie just weeks away, it seems likely that news of this collaboration should be coming soon. What’s more is that if this does indeed come to pass, then Call of Duty will be getting Wolverine content before the actual Wolverine game. Who would’ve thought? Not us, that’s for sure.
