Summary

A gameplay showcase ofDead Rising Deluxe Remasterhas revealed that it’ll be introducing auto saves and letting players fast-forward time whenever they like.

Last week,Capcomdropped an absolute bombshell onDead Risingfans by revealing thatthe series is coming back with a “Deluxe Remaster” of the first game. We only saw a very brief look at what exactly a deluxe remaster even is during the teaser trailer, but it was more than enoughfor a fanbase that was near certain its series had died out eight years ago.

It’s been less than a week since Capcom randomly revealed Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, but it’s already decided to give us an even better look at its Capcom Next Summer showcase. No idea why it wasn’t atSummer Game Festor any of the other countless events over the past few months, but the new reveal did have some interesting things to reveal.

One of the most interesting parts of the whole showcase is when Capcom revealed that Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is going to make some changes to the original game’s save system. Don’t worry, though,as the original save mechanics and timer are still intactand have just seen some interesting tweaks.

The first of these is the introduction of an auto save mechanic, which was completely absent from the original release. In the 2006 release, Frank could only save in specific locations, which forced you to be cautious. In the Deluxe Remaster, that system has been tweaked a bit, and an auto-save is now created at specific points.

We don’t yet know how often Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will auto save, but it’s likely to be whenever you leave an area or take on a boss.

Another interesting addition to the time and saving mechanics of the original game is the ability to fast-forward time. At one point in the gameplay showcase, Frank is seen looking at his watch and holding a button down to accelerate time, which should let players cut down on some of the series' waiting around.

Again, it’s not clear how much the system can be used and if players can feasibly just skip whole days, but it’s a very interesting introduction that should make replaying Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster a bit easier than the original game.
