Summary
Dead Rising Deluxe Remasterediscoming on September 19, and it boasts a wealth of new features and additions, like the ability to autosave and fast-forward. It also hassome seriously beefed-up graphics, and, according to the devs over at Capcom, the game borders more on a “remake” than a “remaster.“That much was clearly evident duringCapcom’s July 1 “Capcom Next” presentation, wherea new Resident Evil game was also confirmed to be in the works.
As part of its remake-like design, protagonist Frank West has gotten a major overhaul in the looks department. He has also been recastas the original voice actor for Frank, TJ Rotolo, admitted that he wasn’t even asked to return. Frank’s new look has him very much square-like and closely resembling a Street Fighter 6 create-a-character. That said, if his new digs aren’t your fancy, then know that Capcom is letting gamers play as 2006 Frank West. Oh, and Chuck Greene, too.

As part of Dead Rising Deluxe Remastered’s preorder bonuses, gamers will have access to three unique skins at launch: 2006 Frank West, Chuck Greene of Dead Rising 2 fame and the Willamette Parkview Mall Bee mascot. What’s more, each of these unique costumes will also include specific BGM tracks that can be swapped out. Unfortunately, Nick Ramos from Dead Rising 3 is not an included skin.
Here’s how they all shake out:
And here’s how Frank, in particular, looks. It’s basically an upgraded version of his original appearance, but it’s more than enough. Especially if you find the new Frank to look, well, a little off-putting.
Those costumes will be for all those who preorder the game, and Capcom notes that they could be made available separately down the line. Those three will join a set of 17 additional costumes and 17 unique related BGM tracks that will be available via the Digital Deluxe Edition. In all, Frank will have access to 20 different costumes and 20 different tracks from bonuses alone. In other words, there will be no shortage of creative mayhem.
