As is so often the case, it’s an exciting time forDead by Daylightplayers right now. Over the past few days, two major crossovers have been announced for the game. Dead by Daylight xCastlevaniawill be hitting the game at the end of August, and aFive Nights at Freddy’scollaboration will be dropping next summer.
While limited details have been shared at this point, one eagle-eyed Reddit user may have just found asmall hintas to what sort of Five Nights at Freddy’s content will be coming to Behaviour Interactive’sasymmetrical multiplayer horror hit.
Five Nights At Freddy’s Movie Content Likely Missing From Crossover
This new spot from Reddit userInevitable_Cut_4025indicates that the Five Nights at Freddy’s x Dead by Daylight collaboration will focus on the series' video game adaptations rather than thesuccessful 2023 movieof the same name. It gives us our first indication of what sort of content will be coming to Dead by Daylight.
In theannouncement imageshared for the crossover, the small print at the bottom states that the FNAF content is licensed by Scott Cawthon, the series creator, and not Blumhouse Productions, whom the movie license would fall under.
This probably comes as nomajorsurprise, given that Five Nights at Freddy’s now has over 15 games in the wild, all released over a nine-year period, but given the success of the recent movie, one could be forgiven for assuming that it might play at least some small part in next year’s update.
One thing thatBehaviour Interactiveis fantastic at is building hype around upcoming releases. So, although the crossover is around a year away, new information will be drip-fed throughout that time.
We asked Behaviour if they’d be willing to comment on the matter, to which it responded, “At present, we will not be commenting further on the partnership. Just know it’s coming Summer 2025!”
