Summary
After almost two years of legal issues and various bodies trying to stop it from happening,Xbox’s $70 billion acquisition ofActivision Blizzardwas finalized in October 2023. That means big series such asCall Of Duty,Diablo, and Candy Crush Saga are now owned by Xbox. Not to mention heavyweight veterans in the video game world such asCrash BandicootandSpyro the Dragon, and it’s those two platforming mascots who will usher in the Activision era ofGame Pass.
That’s according to eXtas1s whoshared the rumor on exputer.According to VGC, the leaker has a good track record when it comes to revealing what will be on Game Pass ahead of time, hence the belief that there might be some validity to their claims. According to the leaker, the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy will be the first Activision game to join Game Pass since the studio was bought by Xbox, potentially coming to the subscription service as soon as August.

It was also noted in the post that the Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 will follow it “very soon”, but probably not during the same month the remastered Crash trilogy kicks things off. That would make a lot of sense if this is how it unfolds as Xbox has some huge potential additions now that it owns Activision Blizzard, and spacing out their arrivals would be a good idea. This is just me thinking out loud, but perhaps Crash in August, Spyro in September, and Tony Hawk at the start of October.
The World’s Most Famous Bandicoot Might Be Coming To Game Pass
I’m guessing the start of October specifically as we already knowCall Of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be coming to Game Pass on day onewhen it’s released on October 25. A lot of the buzz surrounding the acquisition before it was finalized revolved aroundCall Of Dutyand what will happen to it. The series will continue to launch onPlayStationbut starting withBlack Ops 6, Xbox andPCowners will have the option of playing it through Game Pass rather than buying a copy of the game.
There’s a chance that after Crash and Spyro’s trilogies are added to Game Pass, if that is indeed the plan, either the bandicoot or the dragon gets a brand new game.A Toys For Bob teaseappeared to hint that something along those lines is in the works. Toys For Bob split from Activision and Xbox earlier this year, but Xbox is working with the studio on its first solo project, meaning it could feature Crash or Spyro.
