Summary
A multiplayer spin-off ofControl, currently known as Codename Condor, is being playtested atRemedy. This is after the game entered full production earlier this year, with the project now in a playable state.
This comes from Remedy’s latestinvestors report, giving us a better idea of what the studio is working on behind the scenes. As spotted by Reddit user Electricman37cz, the report gives us a quick update on Codename Condor, stating that it’s currently undergoing both internal and external playtesting.
Control Spin-Off, Codename Condor, Is Undergoing Playtesting
“Codename Condor is in full production,” reads the report. “The development team has worked on multiple maps and different mission types, and we have organized a growing amount of internal and limited external playtesting for feature validation and feedback.”
Alongside the Max Payne remake, Condor is now in full production. It remains to be seen when Remedy is ready to show it off to the public, but at the very least, we know now that the game is playable at a basic level.
Codename Condor was first revealed in 2021. Here, we were told that it would be a multiplayer co-op with four-player PvE gameplay. It has no release window but islistedas targeting Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
This is far from Remedy’s only project. As noted in the report, the studio is alsoworking on Control 2, which has recently entered the “production readiness” stage, having just progressed from proof-of-concept. This means it’s far from being ready for the public, but proves that Remedy is still interested in a more expected follow-up to Control.
On top of that, the studio is also working on more DLC forAlan Wake 2. The Lake House is now in development, with the team immediately pivoting to this expansion after it dropped Night Springs back in early June.
