Summary
While it was presumed thatConcord, Sony’s newest live-service title, wouldn’t hit the same highs asHelldivers 2did earlier this year, no one could have expected this outcome. Concord, which officially launched today as a simultaneous release on bothPS5andPC via Steam, has yet to hit 1,000 concurrent players on Steam.
That bit of info comes via SteamDB, a website dedicated to tracking all things related to Steam, including player counts and all-time peaks, among other figures.Per SteamDB, as of the time of writing, only 617 players are currently playing Concord. The all-time peak isn’t much better, either.

So far, Concord has peaked at 697 players. Those numbers aren’t enough to even make a dent in the website’s interactive chart.

For reference,Helldivers 2reacheda peak of 458,709 players, no small number. Even a game as maligned asRedfallwas able to managea peak of 6,124 players.
Of course, that figure could certainly rise as more and more people begin their weekends, or when the game eventually goes on sale. Still, it isn’t the greatest start for what is supposed to be a live-service game built on an active and engaged playerbase.
The Reviews For Concord Are Pretty Mixed
Concord currently sits at a 69 on Metacritic, though that’s only based on five reviews. Over on Steam, things are surprisingly a bit more positive despite the low player counts. The game is classified as “Very Positive” based off 150 reviews. Many of those reviews have playtimes that extend beyond a couple of hours, too.
“Solid Hero arena shooter. So many say oh its just a copy of blah blah game. The art style to gameplay is super fun and solid. Personally 40 dollar tag is worth for the time ill put into it but to each is there own,“one user review read in full, with nearly eight hours of recorded playtime.
It’ll be intriguing to see how Concord performs over the next few days and weeks. It’s no fun when any game fails to achieve immediate success. After all, the game is the effort of multiple individuals with a passion for the industry and all things gaming. Perhaps things can become positive down the line.
