Summary

Firewalk’s debut gameConcord, a PvP arena shooter coming toPS5andPC, is now only six weeks away. The reaction toConcord’s first proper trailer during the most recent State of Playreceived a lukewarm response, and not just because we were all talking about theAstro Bottrailer that followed it 20 minutes later. Firewalk will be hoping people are talking more positively about Concord by this time on Monday, and it seems it wants as many of us as possible to take part in its first early access beta weekend.

PlayStation confirmed on Thursdaythat the Concord early access weekend kicking off on July 12 is now open to anyone with an activePS Plussubscription. Access to the first beta was previously restricted to those who had placed a pre-order for the game. Naturally,PlayStationhasn’t divulged how well Concord’s pre-order numbers are doing, but the open invite to anyone with PS Plus and not just those who have committed to playing the full game suggests they’ve not been going well.

The early access weekend will begin at 1 pm EST on Friday, July 12 and ends on Sunday, July 14. If you want to dive into the action the second the beta goes live, you will be able to pre-load the game starting from 1 pm EST today, July 11. Players will be able to choose from all 16 of Concord’s characters throughout the weekend, giving you a chance to try them all and see which of them is the best fit for your play style.

Maps And Modes In Early Access

The three modes you will be able to take for a spin this weekend are Clash Point, Trophy Hunt, and Cargo Run. Clash Point requires you to protect your zone from the rival team, Trophy Hunt revolves around killing enemies and collecting the tokens they drop, and Cargo Run gives one team cargo to transport while the other team has to try and steal it. Those modes will be taking place across four maps - Freewater, Star Chamber, Water Hazard, and Shock Risk.

Concord

WHERE TO PLAY

Concord is an upcoming FPS from Firewalk Studios, part of the PlayStation Studios family. A PvP multiplayer title, it is slated for launch on both PS5 and PC in 2024.

Four days after Concord’s early access doors close on July 14, they will reopen again for its open beta on July 18. Area Control will be added to the game for the open beta, as will the Bone Mines map. The open beta will be available for all players and any progress you make during the early access weekend will be carried over. However, progress made during the beta weekends will be reset should you purchase the full game and continue your Concord adventure when it launches on August 23. You will get exclusive in-game rewards for taking part in both beta weekends, though.
