Summary

We’re several hours away fromConcordofficially being on the market for an entire week, and as far as player concurrents are concerned, things haven’t improved much. In fact, things are beginning to look more dire than ever.

Nearly one week ago,we reported that Concord had failed to crack 1,000 concurrent players via Steam on its launch day. That data came from SteamDB,a website dedicated to tracking all things Steam-related, including player counts and price charts.

Concord Double Digits

At the time of publication, the all-time peak for Concord on Steam was 697 players, a mark that the game has yet to surpass in the near week since launch.

Shortly after,we reported how the game was dipping into the low 200s, with periods of under 200 concurrent players. That’s also whenplayers began reporting difficulty finding matches.

Now, the game has officially begun dipping into the double-digits.

Things Aren’t Looking Too Good

Once again taking a peek at the data housed at SteamDB, at multiple points today (Aug. 29), Concord dipped into double-digit territory.

Over a period of seven hours, Concord went from 120 players to 98 before plummeting all the way to 60 players, the lowest the game has ever experienced. From there, things slowly began trickling back up, before finally getting into the low 100s. Presently, 148 players are in-game, per SteamDB, and constantly fluctuating.

In another twist of events, the game has gone from “Mostly Positive” reviews on Steam to “Mixed,“witha flurry of negative feedback entering the discourse. Elsewhere, the game has a 2.0 user rating on Metacritic, thoughit would appear numerous reviews are not in good faith.

While not a definitive barometer by any means, Concord is also not shown in the “Top 10 games in your country” list on thePlayStation Store desktop site. For transparency’s sake, this writer is based in the USA.

Of course, Steam numbers are just one piece of the puzzle, and there is no doubt that the game has likely performed a tad bit better on the PlayStation side. However, those numbers, coupled with player feedback and discussion do point towards a game that is struggling to establish a consistent base. Seeing as Concord is a live-service game that necessitates a dedicated base, these numbers certainly don’t bode well for the game’s future.
