A high-end gaming PC is what many of us PC gamers aspire to have. You’ve maybe had the horrible experience of trying to load up a new triple-A game that you played $70 for only to have it crash, assuming you’re able to even get it to start at all. Most of the time, this is because your PC’s hardware isn’t able to handle whatever you’re trying to run.

If you’re buying a new high-end gaming PC, what do you need to buy for your setup? There’s more at play than some components. We’ve put together a quick list of the best items to have in your shopping cart for setting up your PC, from peripherals and furniture to a few components in the PC itself.

ASUS TUF Gaming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 12GB OC Edition

Better than most

A high-end PC almost always includes a high-end GPU. While this GPU isn’t the absolute top-of-the-line, it’s a high-end GPU that can handle any game you throw at it without problems.

A large Sedeta desk with three displays and room for two chairs.

If you’re building your PC yourself, one of the most important components for any high-end gaming PC is a good graphics card, or GPU. We recommend the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 for that purpose, as it’s powerful enough to play virtually any modern triple-A game. In fact, a 4070 is still seen by most to be future-proofing your PC.

There are other GPUs that are stronger, but for the average gamer, you shouldn’t need anything stronger than this in your PC. We’ve chosen the Asus TUF version for its excellent cooling, low-volume operation, and minimalist aesthetic.

Corsair Scimitar Elite Wireless

Great for hotkey-heavy games

Corsair’s peripherals are exceptional, and the Scimitar Elite Wireless is a great example of this. This gaming mouse is ideal for anything hotkey-heavy, from MMOs to MOBAs.

You’ve made a beautiful, state-of-the-art PC, but what are you going to control it with? If you’re looking for a universal gaming mouse, we love the Corsair Scimita Elite Wireless for its exceptional build quality and versatility. As anMMO accessory, this mouse comes with 12 buttons on the side that you can use for hotkeys in any game where you’d need your number row. These buttons curve inward for ergonomic support, helping you prevent issues like cramps and carpal tunnel.

As a note, this is the mouse I use! It’s phenomenal for any game I bring it into, but it shines the most in World of Warcraft and Diablo 4. It’s also served me well in MOBAs, and virtually anything else with hotkeys that I can bind to my number row. The battery also lasts a long time, though I admittedly swapped to the wired version recently out of personal preference for wired peripherals. I can’t recommend this mouse enough for any purpose.

Corsair Void Elite RGB Wireless Gaming Headset

Roomy, comfortable, and long-range

No gaming PC is complete without the right headset. We love the Corsair Void RGB Elite for its roomy interior, great padding, long range, and iCUE software compatibility.

Headsets are crucial no matter what games you intend to play if you want to talk to your friends and teammates - or have some choice words on an open-mic game with the camper on the other team. Corsair’s peripherals can’t be overlooked in any category, and their VOID headset is another great choice.

The VOID RGB Elite has a spacious interior to ensure your ears aren’t cramped. The cushioning around the ears, as well as the headband, makes this acomfortable headsetfor short-term use. During my time using this headset, I’ll admit that the bulkier body made it uncomfortable on raid nights where I had it on for hours at a time. But overall, this is a stellar headset that’ll serve you well.
