Role Quests are Job-specific quests for each role inFinal Fantasy 14. In Dawntrail, these quests center around the Passage of the Unbound, a criminal organization that has stolen precious artifacts from various people of Tural.
In the Healer Role Quest, you are tasked with tracking down the Heartstring, an artifact that has the power to both cause and cure ailments. Below, we’ll take a look at how to complete every quest in the Healer Role Quest series for Dawntrail.
How To Unlock Role Quests
You will be able to undertake Role Quests after completing thelevel 92 Main Scenario Quest ‘The Feat of Pots’. After that, you can accept’Uncouth Customers’fromBr’uk Evu in Tuliyollal (X:12.4, Y:14.5), which will introduce you to each of the five Role Quests you can complete.
The first Healer Role Quest is’In the Sting of Things', which we’ll take a deeper look at below.

Nyipine - Tuliyollal (X:12.0, Y:15.0)
After starting this quest by talking toNyipine in Tuliyollalas alevel 90 or above Healer, teleport toLimsa Lominsa, then make your way to theFerry Docksto search forBhalbryda. Now, follow the quest marker to Loashkana’s location nearWest Hawkers' Alley; speak to her to begin a cutscene.
After the cutscene,gather information around Hawkers' Alleyby speaking to three NPCs. Their positions are marked on the map. Next, head to theFishermens' Guildand find the patrolling Yellowjacket. Then, meet up with the Yellowjack again, who is assisting a citizen.Cast Esuna on the Ailing Citizento begin a cutscene. After the cutscene, talk to Loashkana to finish the quest.

Loashkana - Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (X:8.9, Y:13.4)
Talking to Loashkana to start this quest will immediately begin a cutscene. After the cutscene, teleport toAleport in Western La Noscea, then find Loashkananear the docks. Speaking to her will start another short cutscene.
Next,speak to the Knowledgeable Merchantnearby, then headsoutheast towards Swiftperch, where you’ll findWyssulm and Zerigunder attack.Defeat the Mammets, talk to Wyssulm, thencast Esuna on Zerig. After this cutscene, return toLimsa Lominsaand speak to Loashkana to complete this quest.

After accepting the quest from Loashkana, head to theMoraby Drydocks in Lower La Nosceaand speak to her there,near the Aetheryte. Next, you’ll need to search for theHigh-strung Shipwright’s brother. He can be found at(X:23.6, Y:33.8), near some crates.
Return to the High-strung Shipwright and speak to him, then talk to Loashkana after he and his brother leave. After this cutscene, return toLimsa Lominsaand speak to Loashkana to complete this quest.

After accepting the quest, head toAleport in Western La Nosceaand speak toLoashkana near the Aetheryte. After speaking toWyssulm and Zerigin the cutscene, travel toCamp Bronze Lakein Upper La Noscea, then talk to Loashkana to begin another cutscene.
After this cutscene, you’ll need tocast Esuna on three victimsof Ellerete’s poison. The positions of the victims are marked on your map. Once you’ve cured the bathers, speak to Loashkana again. Then, head back toLimsa Lominsaand talk to Loashkana to finish this quest.

Head toCosta del Sol in Eastern La Nosceaafter accepting this quest from Loashkana at her usual spot in Limsa Lominsa. At Costa del Sol, talk to Loashkana again to begin a cutscene. After the cutscene, talk to Loashkana, then headwest towards Raincatcher Gully.
Here, survey the designated location anddefeat the Mammets that appear. Travel slightlynortheast along the riverto find Loashkana, then speak to her anddeliver the river survey notes. After the cutscene, talk to Loashkana, then head back toCosta del Soland speak to her again. Then, return toLimsa Lominsaand speak with Loashkana to complete this quest.

After starting this quest, head to theentrance to Brayflox’s Longstop in Eastern La Noscea. The closest Aetheryte isWineport; travelsouthwestfrom here to get to the Dungeon’s entrance, then speak to Loashkana. Then, speak to her again to enter asolo instanced Duty.
Shortly after the battle begins, Ellerete will castTricky Tonic, granting herself severalstacking buffslike damage up, vulnerability down, and restoring health over time. She will use this ability multiple times throughout the fight,growing stronger as the battle progresses.
Throughout the fight, you’ll need tostay on top of healing both yourself and Loashkana.
Additionally, Ellerete will repeatedly useStinging Anguishthroughout the fight, inflicting you and Loashkana with an infiniteBleeding debuff. UseEsunaon yourself and Loashkana to cleanse this debuff.
Ellerete will then castStinging Malady, targeting you and Loashkana withlarge conal AoEsthat inflictHP Recovery Down. Move away from Loashkana to avoid overlapping these, thencleanse the debuff using Esunato ensure your heals are at full strength.
Bewildering Blightwill target you and Loashkana withAoE Markersthat deal damage and inflictTemporary Misdirection, aligning your movement inputs with thespinning hand above your head. Ellerete will then useSkineater Surge, preparing alarge AoE to her front. Wait for the spinning hand to be in the correct position, thenmove yourself behind Ellereteto avoid this attack.
Sting of the Scorpionwill deal damage, inflictBleeding, and createthree Poison Cloudsaround the arena that willexplode in an AoEafter a short cast time.
At this point, Ellerete will start to become overwhelmed by her toxins, and will godown for the count. Meanwhile, Kokonowa will summontwo mammets to protect her; destroy these mammets tobreak the shieldprotecting Ellerete.
Next, Ellerete will useTricky Tonicon herselfthree timesbefore usingSting of the Scorpionagain, followed immediately byStinging Deception. This ability will inflict you withDelusions, causing you to seethree copies of Ellerete. She and her copies will thendash around the arenabefore the two copies cast apoint-blank circle AoEwhile the true Ellerete usesSkineater Surge.
The true Ellerete can be identified by thepink glow surrounding her; run behind this Ellerete to avoid the large AoE. Ellerete will then hit Loashkana with aTankbuster, so get ready to restore her health.
Now, Kokonowa will unleashmalfunctioning Mammets, which will then chase him around the arena for a few seconds beforereturning to the battlefield in sequence. Coincidentally, the Mammets will thenexplode in the order they returned.
Stand in thecenter of the arena, wait for the first Mammet to explode, thenmove into the newly created safe spotto avoid the remaining explosions.
Ellerete will then castScorn of the Scorpion, damaging you and Loashkana before creating aSuffocating Cloudin the center of the arena, which will begin pouring toxins into four puddles that willslowly increase in size.
At the same time, Loashkana will begin casting her Limit Break,Obsidian Zenith. Stack next to Loashkana andkeep her healed while avoiding the toxic puddlesuntil she casts her Limit Break, destroying the Suffocating Cloud. Deal the last remaining bit of damage to Ellerete, and the Duty will be complete.
After the battle, watch the cutscene that follows, then talk to Loashkana outside the entrance to Brayflox’s Longstop. Now, head back toAleport in Western La Nosceaand speak to Wyssulm to start a cutscene. Finally, head back toTuliyollaland talk toNyipine at Xbalyav Ty’eto complete this quest!
