Whether you’re grabbing some Normal Subquests in the hopes of earning resources, Zenny, new gear, and more, or you’re more focused on the Special Subquests that task you with harder goals that yield much better rewards, it always pays to work on all the Subquests in Monster Hunter Stories – you never know what you’ll need!

Subquests Pay In Cash, Resources, And More
When youfirst begin playing Monster Hunter Stories, you’ll seearound Hakum Villagebefore long that certaincharacters have a ! above their head. The red and orange ones progress the main story, butblue ! bubblesmeans you’ve got anew questyou can accept. Once you’vefinishedwhat this person is asking for, you’ll see them have awhite ! bubbleinstead.
Finishing a few subquests unlocks theQuest board. You’ll typically find one inmost major settlementsacross the map, like Hakum Village and Gildegaran. Here, you canaccept more subquests, track which ones you’re actively working on, and eventurn in questsinstead of seeking out whoever was offering it.Check the board often, since a lot of the subquests in Monster Hunter Stories involvethings you’re already doing anyway.

Some people ask you to fight a set number of a certain monster, while others may ask for specific resources and quantities of them, so we found it helpful toaccept all the subquests, gather and fight your way through the world,raid monster dens, and check back periodically to see what you already finished organically.

New subquests unlock as you venture into new regions in Monster Hunter World, so be sure to check back at the Subquests Board next time you’re in a settlement to see if there’s something new to do.
Normal Subquests are most likely to be repeatable, so always check - you’ll be doing a lot of this stuff anyway, and it never hurts to earn bonus rewards for the same amount of work.

A lot of the Special Subquests are meant to take place toward the end of the game, hence the slaying-specific goals and the high level caps - the monsters you’ll be battling are no joke.
