Even thoughZenless Zone Zeroisn’t entirely an open-world game, it still contains various regions, each with their unique aesthetic and vibe. While none of these areas are particularly big, each one has specific exploration tasks you’re able to do to get used to the surroundings.
However, you won’t be able to access most of the map at the start of the game. You’ll have to fulfill specific requirements before you can embark on one of the new areas, and here’s how you can easily unlock each one of them.

Every Area Unlock Guide
You’ll be able to find a total offive main areas where you’ll continue the storyof Zenless Zone Zero, and you can unlock them once you’ve fulfilled these conditions:
Sixth Street
None
This area is unlocked at the beginning, but you’ll only be able toproperly explore it after beating the first chaptersince you’ll unlock the time cycle afterward.
Scott Outpost

You can unlock Scott Outpost once you finish the first chapter and reach level 20, which willtrigger the Hollow Zero quest taking you here.
You’ll also unlock theShiyu Defense and Routine Cleanupmechanics in this area eventually.
Brant Street Construction Site

Once you beat Hollow Zero and reach level 22, you’ll beable to start the second chapter of the storyandmeet the Belobog Heavy Industries crewat the Brant Street Construction Site.
Lumina Square

After going through the entirety of thesecond chapter and reaching level 30, you’ll begin the Chapter 2 Interlude, whichtakes you to Lumina Square, one of the largest areas in the game.
Ballet Twins Road

Finally, you may unlock the Ballet Twins Road areaonce you reach level 34 and start the third chapter. Before reaching the area, you’ll have to do a small commission in the hollow.
Every area mentioned abovehas its own explorationwith Officer Mewmew except Scott Outpost.
While you unlock these areas at the beginning of various chapters, a lot of quests and HIA Commemorative Coins arelocked behind you reaching a certain point in the story. It’s highly recommended to finish an area’s story before you start exploring it to have a seamless experience unless you need EXP for leveling up.
