In addition to exploring the world ofZenless Zone Zero, you’ll need to engage in combat. Near the beginning of the game, this combat can seem relatively straightforward and simple, but over time, it will increase in difficulty. When this happens, you may feel a little weak compared to the enemies that you are facing.

Here, we are going to take a look at how to increase your damage in Zenless Zone Zero. This will include how to simply increase attack stats for your Agents, as well as other ways to increase overall damage that don’t include just leveling up your characters.

Level Up Your Agents

The first and most obvious thing to do islevel up your Agents. You can do this right from the Agents screen in increments of ten. Let’s take a look at Nicole as an example, who is also shown in the images above.

At level ten, Nicole’s attack caps out at239.Oncepromoted and leveled up to 20 though, this jumps all the way to333.If you promote her another time after this, thenher attack will go up again. This isn’t the best way to increase damage, but it’s important to level up and promote your Agents as you progress in the game anyway.

Equip W Engines

W-Engines can be given to your Agents toprovide a variety of helpful effects. These effects are specific to different specialties. For example, the Starlight Engine W-Engine above can be used toincrease your attack by a certain percentage for a set amount of time.

By leveling up W-Engines, you canincrease the damage for your individual Agents, contributing to your overall damage. In order to get more, you just need to summon more! If you get duplicate W-Engines,you’re able to use them to increase the star ratings of the main one that you use.

For example, if you happen to get another Starlight Engine, then you canbring it from one to two stars, which boosts the damage percentagefrom 36 to 41 percent.

Be sure to double-check the effects of certain W-Engines, as they may beineffective for Agents with different attributes.

Pay Attention To Enemy Weakness

Before heading into battle, it’s essential that you check the weakness of the enemies. When starting a new mission, you will see the level and difficulty, as well as therecommended attributes that you should choose.

For example, the Security Patrol combat trial recommends that youchoose Agents with the Electric attribute.Choosing Agents with the right attribute can greatly increase your total damage and chance of success, so be sure to pay attention to this. Of course,if you are very over-leveled, then this is not as important.

Check Party Abilities

Within your party, your Agents can havecertain abilities activedepending on the team composition. These abilities may increase damage, making them useful. For example, if you place Billy in a team with another Cunning Hares member,Billy’s damage will increase by 50 percent for his next Ultimate after he uses a Chain Attack.

This, of course, is helpful. Not every Agent has an ability that increases damage, such as Enby, who has an ability that increases her Energy. If you are looking to maximize the abilities of your team, be sure tochoose three members that synergize well together.

Pay Attention To Elemental Attributes

Elemental attributeshave certain effects that canincrease damage. For example, an Agent with the Fire attribute will obviously cause fire damage, but once you’ve reached a certain point (Fire Anomaly Buildup),Burn will trigger, which thendeals continuous fire damage to the enemy.

Agents with the Electric attribute are also a great addition to any team. Electric damage will build up on the enemies that are attacked, which is called Electric Anomaly Buildup in this case. When this is sufficiently built up,then the Shock effect will occur.

This effect will cause the enemy totake more Electric damage when they are attacked.Essentially, you will do more damage to them during this period of time.

The Stun effect works great as well, although it’s not an elemental attribute. When an enemy’s Daze has built up, they will become stunned, which allows your Agents todeal damage without the enemy fighting back like usual.Stun and Shock are a great pair of attributes to have.Agents like Enby have both attributes, which is helpful.

Eat Some Ramen

Who knew that eating a big bowl of ramen could increase our damage? Well, it can in Zenless Zone Zero. By heading to General Chop at the ramen shop, you will be able to eat a variety of ramen bowls. Most of these will unlock as you level up, but right from the start, you will be able to eat Vegetable Noodles.

This dish provides 30 attack and lasts for three combats. The last ramen that you’re able to unlock is Bone Broth Noodles, which boosts yourdamage against boss enemies by a whopping 30 percent.

If you eat another bowl of ramen when a previous one is still active, thenyou will only receive the bonus from the most recent bowl. These stats will not stack!

If you have a current noodle buff active, you will be able to see what it is in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. Click on the little icon here to open a detailed description of the effect.

Optimize Drive Discs

Drive Discs are items that can be given to your Agents, chosen from thesame screen where you select W-Engines.Each Agent can havesix Drive Discs active at the same time, and they will provide a variety of effects.

These items can eventually be farmed, but if you are still in the early stages of the game,it’s important to know that you may not have these unlocked yet.If this is the case, then you don’t have to worry about them. Once Drive Discs have been unlocked though,be sure to optimize them for each of your Agents.

Level Up Individual Skills

Lastly, you will be able tolevel up individual skills.By heading to the ‘Skills’ tab of one of your Agents, you will see an overview of all the skills they can use, as well as Enhancements that can be made.

We suggestunlocking these enhancements and leveling up the skills when you have enough material. For example, in the ‘A’ slot for Nekomata, you can unlock an enhancement that increases her critical rate. Additionally, when her Dodge Counter of Quick Assist hits an enemy, her damage will increase by 35 percent for six seconds.

Her basic attack itself can also be upgraded. By clicking on ‘Skill Enhancement’ for the basic attack, you will see all the stat changes that will take place after going through with the upgrade.

If you have enough Denny and Basic Physical Chips, then you can select confirm. If you need items that you haven’t unlocked yet,be sure to progress further in the story and continuously level up your characters.
