The Casting of Frank Stone’seighth chapter opens with Linda talking to Sam, figuring out why he’s at the manor. We discover that they haven’t talked in 20 years and that he believes the Murder Mill legends are true—the film is cursed.
He’ll recognise Stan, claiming that he stole his piece of the film from Robert when he was in a vulnerable place, and swing at him. It’s about time someone threw a punch at him, but sadly Sam misses. Regardless, Stan storms out and Linda sends Madi to find him.

Exploring The Manor
Where To Find The Artifact
After swapping to Madison’s POV,head right and follow the pathuntil you finda TV. Turn it on, and the layout of the manor will change.
Turn around and follow the path to the next doorand go through it. When you get to the junction at the end of the hallway,take a left towards the stairs. The bright, ominous green light is enticing, but ignore it for now and turn left.

You’ll find a shrine, which is actually anArtifact.
Now you’re able to enter the strange verdant halls; surely there’s nothing untoward happening down there.
The Horologium
How To Solve The Puzzle
Push open the double metal doors and enter the Horologium, a bright green room with three spinning rings and a girl screaming from what looks like a sarcophogus in the centre.
There’sa control panel right in front of you. Interact with it and you’ll be presented with a puzzle. It might look complicated, but it’s actually pretty simple.

There arefour circles, butonly three can be turned. The outer ring always remains in place. Simplyline up each circle’s glowing lines with each otherto illuminate a lever in the room.Pull the lever. You’ll have to do this three times.
Starting with thesecond outermost circleis the quickest way to solve this puzzle.

Once all three levers have been pulled, you’ll have tothrow the switch in the middle of the room.
If you fail the quick time event, Madi will rapidly age until she’s a decrepit, ancient corpse.

Regardless of whether Madi dies or not, Chris will appear from the centre of the room, fresh from the portal she fell into.
Linda And Sam Exploring The Manor
After a brief flashback to Robert (dubbed Chapter X), we return to Linda and Sam. They’re nowexploring the manor, discussing Madi and Bonnie and the Murder Mill film, while Sam alludes to the events in 1980 happening at thesame timeas the supposed present day.
When youtake a left at the junction, Sam will collapse and start rambling. You’re thengiven a choice to pickpocket himfor one of two items.

Pouch
If you reach for his pouch, you cantake Sam’s gun. Thischanges a few outcomes later in the game.
Diary
If youtake his diary, you’ll makea discoverythat allows you to confront Sam shortly after. You’ll also have to complete aQTE to pick up a piece of paperthat fell onto the floor.
After this scene, Sam will suddenly disappear.Right in front of you is a fake wall panelleading to the Archive, another strange, eclectic room.

The Archive
There are alotof collectibles to find in Augustine’s hoard of interdimensional versions of the Murder Mill film.
Along the right shelves, you can findthe Fake Prop Arm Artifact,which was used in Chapter 3 to make it look as though Jaime’s arm had been chainsawed off.
On the other side, you’re able to findthe Murder Mine T-Shirt Artifactandthe Nurse Dead by Daylight Doll.
Head to theback of the roomandinspect the Flawed Lamp Artifact, and theninspect the projector on the desk at the end of the room. You’ll watch the scene Linda wrote of Jaime and Chris at the Furnace, only Chris has been swapped out for Bonnie. Not only does this end the chapter, but it counts as anArtifact.
If you took Sam’s journal and the scrap of paper, you’ll get a unique scene in which Linda findsthe Logan Chen Letter Artifact.
After Linda snoops around the Archive and some huge revelations are made about the nature of the Murder Mill film and its importance throughout myriad dimensions, Augustine begins another monologue about various worlds bleeding together and, importantly, the Entity. But for now, we’re going back to 1980 to pick up where younger Linda left off.
