Summary

Call of Dutyis no stranger to pop culture collaborations, having joined forces with the likes of The Boys, Mobile Suit Gundam, Attack on Titan and professional athletes, like Lionel Messi, on outfit and weapon bundles. In the same way thatFortniteplayers can witness Goku and Spider-Man team up against The Weeknd, Call of Duty players can join forces with the Armored Titan dressed as Homelander. It’s just another example of gaming’s increased reach in recent years.

That said, while it was rumored that the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie was going to be CoD’s latest collab, that won’t be the case. Instead, the first-person shooter franchise will be joining forces with WWE to help bring some of its popular wrestlers into the shooter space. On Friday, the long-running franchise shared the initial teaser trailer on Twitter. In it, a professional wrestling ring can be seen, as well as the silhouettes of what will presumably be the three superstars in the game.

And because we live in a world of hopes and dreams, fans immediately took to social media to share the superstars and in-ring moves they most want to see beginning July 24.

Fans Want RKOs, Stone Cold Stunners And A Playable John Cena

Taking to Reddit, fans immediately took note of the numerous finshing moves that can be added to the game in the style of WWE’s own signature finishers. “We need that RKO,“one user succinctly said. Meanwhile, another user had this to say, “Stone cold stunner finisher and I’m throwing my controller!”

Elsewhere, pro wrestling fans shared the superstars they most want to see. It remains to be seen just how big the collaboration is, but, at the very least, three WWE wrestlers will be in the game based off the teaser trailer.John Cena quickly topped the requests, and it wouldn’t be too far-fetched given that he’s already in Fortnite. “Hopefully its the OG’s like undertaker, brett hart, HBK, and gold dust lol,“one user wished for. Others took notethat it’ll probably involve current wrestlers, like Cody Rhodes and Rhea Ripley.

Of course, while the collab is super exciting for fans of both pro wrestling and CoD, fans did take notice of the short shelf life of the skins. That’s because when Black Ops 6 launches, it won’t have “Carry Forward,” meaning any skins purchased now will only be transferrable to Warzone. “I hate that black ops 6 isn’t carry over because this is the single easiest way to drain my wallet. If I can hit a stunner or superman punch in cod I will get it day one,“a user lamented.

As for what those skins will be, well, fans already have some ideas. Some believe that the silhouette on the far right is Rhea Ripley, while the middle skin is Rey Mysterio. The jury, aka the wrestling sleuths of the world, is still out on the far left silhouette. Either way, it’s another extremely exciting collab that has a ton of potential.
