Summary
Treyarch just dropped the first trailer for the return of round based Zombies inCall of Duty: Black Ops 6, showing off the Pack-a-Punch, boat vehicle, new enemy types, perks, wonder weapons, and so much more.
One of the major highlights is the new wonder weapon, the Beamsmasher. It’s described as an “experimental powerhouse with three unique damage types”. In the trailer, we see the player firing a bright yellow beam with a strange jar housing an organic red component. We also got to see the Thrustodyne Aeronautics Model 23, returning from Black Ops 2, and the ever-iconic Ray Gun.

Black Ops 6 is also introducing something called Augments, a “reward upgrade system for your perks, ammo mods, and field upgrades” with over 100 to unlock at launch.
It wouldn’t be a new Zombies without a new perk, in this case Melee Macchiato. It allows you to fist fight the undead masses by strengthening your unarmed attacks (it also upgrades your melee weapon slot, but throwing hands is more fun, right?) There’s also the Mutant Injection power up which turns you into enemy monsters—in the new trailer, we see the player transform into a Mangler.
Call Of Duty Black Ops 6 Zombies Lets You Save And Play In Third-Person
Alongside the trailer, Treyarch is sharing a bunch of details on Twitter. It gave us a better glimpse at the Void Canon and Tentacle Trap, which you can activate to wipe out huge groups of undead, as well as further details on the aformentioned power-up, perk, and wonder weapons.
But what’s really interesting is that you’ll be able to play Black Ops 6 Zombies in third-person, a first for the series. And as leaks suggested,Gobblegums are back for the first time since Black Ops 3and you cansave and quit a match when playing in solo.
Treyarch says that this new round-based Zombies is inspired by both Cold War and Black Ops 3.
For those in multiplayer, you can join a friend’s match even if it’s in-progress or after you’ve disconnected, and there’s an option to continue playing even after you’ve wrapped up the main quest (the Easter Egg of the map).
There’s a whole lot more exciting information pouring out about Black Ops 6 Zombies, likeResident Evil-esque body horror enemies known as “Vermin”, prestige progression, the most customisable HUD we’ve ever had, and the new Shadow elemental damage that lets you teleport zombies into the air. It’s shaping up to be an exciting return to form.
