Summary
WhenCall of Duty: Black Ops 6launcheslater this year on October 25, fans will notice a plethora of changes when it comes to multiplayer.Already, Activision and Treyarch announced that the movement will be receiving a major overhaul with the omnimovement system. Now, it looks like movement won’t be the only thing that looks or feels different in October.
Earlier on Saturday, a massive amount of information surrounding Black Ops 6’s multiplayer leaked online via a PlayStation 4 alpha build.Among those leaks were 20 multiplayer maps, including the return of Nuketown and Firing Range. Now, actual gameplay has also surfaced, showcasing a different UI, a customizable HUD and more.
There’s a lot to unpack, so we’ll highlight some of the most noteworthy developments.
The UI Will Seemingly Be Vertical
If you’re one of the many who are tired of the infinite left-to-right scrolling in Call of Duty menus, then know that things will be changing in Black Ops 6. That’s because the UI has been overhauled to be vertical, meaning weapon attachments are now fully visible, among other quality of life changes.
The HUD Will Be Customizable
Another noteworthy highlight is the many options gamers will have when it comes to customizing the HUD. Among the options listed are “Streamer,” “Legacy,” “Modern Warfare,” and “High Visibility.”
Gunsmith Looks Incredible
That vertical UI also extends to Gunsmith, which will also be a focal part of the game’s multiplayer customization options. The leaks of Gunsmith also give a sneak peek at some of the weapons that will be available at launch.
Omnimovement Is Giving Max Payne Vibes
A lot has been made of the introduction of omnimovement to the game, including the recent news that it cannot be turned off. That said, the leaks also showcased some gameplay with omnimovement in action.
While we won’t know for sure how it feels until the beta, it is giving off some Max Payne vibes. Hardcore gamers might remember how it all worked in Max Payne 3’s multiplayer, so perhaps this will feel similar.
Like we said, there’s a lot to unpack, but what has been shown so far looks extremely promising. Only time will tell if these changes, both visual and gameplay-wise, will be for the good. Here’s hoping they are.
